Harris Art Glass was formed in 1979 by Mary Harris. When she moved to her home in Helena, Mary first supplied stained glass, as well as restoration work, to local shops, churches, and community charity organizations. 30 years later, she has a firm foothold as an artist in the community as well as the surrounding area and the U.S.
Stained glass has for centuries been a symbol of wealth in a home. Advances in technology have made it possible for anyone to bring the beauty and functionality of stained glass into their home. When you have been working with stained glass as long as Mary has, you are bound to dabble, play, test, putz, and push the limits of what stained glass can do. The result of which is often something beautiful and/or the start of a new technique only available through, stained glass artist, Mary Harris.
Mary Harris's "Boulder River Table" series was created in 2016. Using glass and live edge slabs of exotic woods, Mary beautifully recreates a Montana stream, right there in your living room! Some of the pieces focus more on the beauty of the wood itself, leaving the rest of the piece to fit perfectly into any modern/contemporary decor.
