Maine Stove & Chimney is owned and operated by Doug Jones, Jr.(aka J.J.) JJ has been in the chimney industry since he was young, following in the footsteps of his father, Doug Sr. who has been in the chimney business since the late 70's. Doug and JJ wanted a place to send their chimney customers to purchase top quality stoves, and also offer outstanding customer service and professional installations.

JJ is certified by the National Fireplace Institute as a Master Hearth Professional. He is certified in wood, pellet, and gas appliances, and has taken many courses through Hearth and Home Technologies.

We have a new member here at Maine Stove & Chimney! Chiminey Cricket, a play on Jiminy Cricket but pronounced Chim-IN-EE like the song from Mary Poppins. For thousands of years the cricket has symbolized good luck! Finding a cricket on the hearth meant protection for the home and family. We will be leaving Chiminey on the hearth of our new installs to ensure protection and good luck in all of the homes that we visit!

A complete wood stovepipe/chimney replacement including the framing/cladding through second floor (see images). Professionals, Tania, JJ, and Jason did a great job, from initial contact, through proposal, scheduling, and construction. Maine Stove and Chimney was the turnkey solution to fixing a potentially lethal problem. Don’t wait until last minute if you’re living with a fire hazard because these guys book out solid. Thanks again for the excellent work!

2/12/20 had Johann Schwiesow cleaned my insert today.
would not drop pellets. thought it was broken part.
i have never see such a great 2 hour job $199.00 plus casket.
he worked like a Dentist picking every little thing he could find
vacuuming along the way with is little brush, checking, brushing, vacuuming, fixing, cleaning, adjusting etc, etc, etc, did not rush the job.
nicest young man. j j S nephew. only had 1 problem in fourteen years
which was a switch
so happy with this family owned business.

Extremely happy with the customer service at Maine Stove & Chimney and their quality of work. They are very polite and efficient when cleaning my pellet stove and also replaced all the exterior piping and it looks great. It was my first winter operating a pellet stove and I incorrectly came to the conclusion that Maine Stove & Chimney had broken a part when they did their cleaning. They immediately came to my house in December, identified how I was not operating my pellet stove correctly, performed some additional cleaning to get my unit working again, and did not charge me for the visit. We've been using Maine Stove & Chimney to service our pellet stove for several years now. They are always very responsive and provide excellent customer service. They take the time to explain any issues your stove may have so you understand what corrective actions might be needed. They are neat and efficient when working on the stove itself, e.g., cleaning it and do a great job in general. We bought our pellet stove from Maine Stove and Chimney in 2015 and have had it serviced by them since we got it. They have always been professional, prompt and reasonably priced for all of their services. There have been times when we have been able to troubleshoot over the phone with them with their technicians, rather than having them come and do a site visit. We are very happy with Maine Stove and Chimney. They are a reputable business in the Sanford community.

We first met JJ and his crew probably 10 years ago now. We bought our first pellet stove from him then sold our house and moved, bought another pellet stove for our new home from JJ too. Let’s just say, you will not find any better customer service any where else. The crew is super careful to keep everything clean while they work and they are very educated and always personable. We had a stove and chimney installed which unfortunately experienced a leak. The team didn’t hesitate to come out and investigate, diagnose, and repair the same day. The issue was with the chimney cap and had nothing to do with the installation work. We are 100% satisfied with this business and highly recommend them.
