Funky Furniture SF has been making custom, eco-friendly, mid-century modern inspired sofas for over ten years. When you visit our showroom, located at 5391 College Avenue in Oakland, you will find it stocked with our signature line of customizable sofas as well as an assortment of personally selected modern furniture, rugs, lighting fixtures, hand made pillows, re-claimed wooden case pieces and locally made occasional tables.
You can choose from our selection of fabrics or provide your own! Our upholstery pieces come in standard sofa, chair and sectional sizes but can also be made to your exact specifications. Customize your leg style and cushion type, add a sleeper, button tufting or piping almost any frame. Feel free to place your order online then stop by the store to choose your fabric.

We've had a fantastic experience with funky furniture. I had a very specific design proposal that I wanted to get implemented, with a complex two-sided couch and a separate matching ottoman. I can't express how happy I've been with with the service! I bought a sleeper sofa and was told the mechanism part was unavailable and not sure when it would be available to make the couch. I went in a limb and decided to wait. No joke, the sofa was ready in less than 2 months! I was thinking it would take way longer. Super impressed with Funky Furniture! They went way above and beyond.

I found customer service to be really lacking. If you call you get an answering machine recommending that you email them if you have a question. Neither was the email returned nor was the second phone message returned until days later. We were wanting to make a purchase, it seems like as a business they would want the purchase instead of making it challenging to get back to a potential customer. Instead, we made a substantial purchase at West Elm and received excellent service.

We decided to come here after searching all of the typical "modern" furniture places. We love that the furniture here is so customizable and made in California. Reg was very informative and patient describing all of our options and allowing us to take our time to make a decision on a beautiful sofa!

The couch we ordered was available for delivery at earliest time expected, the couch itself is beautiful and we really appreciated the recommendation to get a monroe in apartment size as really is the right fit. we were worried it would be too small. minor delivery issue that was unavoidable. needed to wait 1 extra day for delivery. the delivery team they are contracted with were super pleasant and made sure to tip appropriately. thanks, funky furniture, and good luck with your name change.

Love love love is all I can say. Kania is really great. I had in mind what I wanted for a sofa but was unsure of fabric, cushion composition, number of cushions etc. Kania took so much time with me and was very visual ('....lets pull the cushions off this sofa and put them on this one so you can see what it would look like' '....lay down on this sofa and try out the cushion, then try that one over there'....etc) She also provided me with excellent ideas about other things to think about in terms of decorating the room that the sofa was going into. We purchased a teal sofa (the same Stef W. posted a picture of) from Funky Furniture and have had it for about a year and a half. While we like the style, we are very disappointed with the quality. We placed the sofa in a second living room that we don't use often, and the threads at the bottom curve of the sofa starting shredding about 6-8 months after purchasing. We don't have animals or pets, and we use our sofa just occasionally, so to have this happen so quickly signals poor quality and cheap materials. I'm surprised by the high ratings from here. We've been greatly disappointed

First of all the stuff in their showroom is amazing. So stylish and great quality. When I came in shopping for a couch Jason was incredibly helpful at thinking through the options for me. When I found a couch I liked but wanted different legs he didn't hesitate to offer to change them out for me at no additional cost.

Ordered/purchased two pieces here. Kania is exuberant, acts nice and makes tall promises when you're there to buy something. Ultimately, they fell short of our expectations. Kania proved to be insincere and the product is just OK and the quality is not at par for the prices they charge.
Oh, and once you've paid, it's too late. I suggest you beware!

AWESOME. This place is amazing and has an excellent furniture selection. Thanks for making my furniture shopping experience so seamless.
From initial ordering to delivery, the team's service was unbeatable. I couldn't be in-store to pay and arrange delivery but they helped me process everything remotely without an issue. My bar table and sofa were very carefully packaged for secure delivery. Will be back again soon for more furniture.

This place is absolutely awesome. We just moved to SF from across the country and didn't have any furniture at all. After shopping at several area stores and finding nearly everything as too expensive (IMHO) or not well-made, we walked into Funky Furniture. Most of their items are "inspired" by very high-end furniture (great artists steal!) and are well-crafted. And considering the quality, the prices are extremely reasonable -- even cheaper than I had hoped I might find.

Serendipity is the word to describe our sofa purchase experience from Funky Furniture. I was hell bent on getting a leather sofa...I wanted a Chesterfield mustard yellow leather but price was a bit off the charts so....we shopped around and found a comparable modern one..huzzzah!!! Fell in love with it, Kania just put a new sale sticker on it just that day or the day previous. We got it delivered within the hour after purchasing! What?! It was a floor sample and it's being loved up fresh in our living room! I really didn't want to wait for the production time so it worked out perfect

It's been a while but I finally got my couch (and some other goodies)! I got a custom-made Divya couch, a small glass console table and a white leather office chair. The couch was a bit more than I wanted to spend but for the quality, service and look, I knew I had to have it! I gave them the dimensions I wanted it, it was made in California and delivered in 3 weeks by the owner- thanks Reg!
Plus the other items I purchased were fairly inexpensive... cool modern glass console table for under $200 and sleek office chair for $325. There was also an arc lamp that caught my eye for $185. Awesome
