Over the years, the business grew as son Robert R. Howells specialized in contract glazing, aluminum storefronts, doors, and windows. In 1979, an arson-related fire destroyed the entire rear shop and company vehicles. Because of the Howells' spirit, fortitude, and commitment to the community, the shop was completely rebuilt in less than three months.

When I needed to replace a 14x18" piece of glass for a picture frame, I foolishly called around to craft stores, big box stores, and frame shops. One crafter supply store put me on hold for 12 minutes; the frame department never answered. A custom framer said her husband could do the job for $22. Then I thought of Howell's, a store I often used when I worked in the city. The clerk answered the phone on the first ring. He quickly gave me a price: $5.37. This could have been a 4 star experience if pick up went a little easier. The backstory was I needed glass for a dresser top. It needed to have polished edges. I called several different glass companies to get estimates and lead times. Only two answered, one quoting a price of $60. Howell's gave me a price of $35, while all the others never returned my messages. It was a no brainer to place my order with Howells, although I did have some pick up concerns. I was told it would take a week. I placed the order on a Thursday around lunchtime.

Outside pane of my large double pane window broke, Howell's gave a replacement estimate which I accepted. They fixed it to perfection and lowered the price because it didn't take as long as they anticipated. Honesty in this day and age...amazing! If you need glass, call Howell's. These folks know what they are doing and are honest too. I won't need to play around if I need anything glass in the future, it's Howell's for me.

Once again, Pedro and Julie came through with quality work and excellent customer service. I had glass replaced in 5 sashes. For anyone familiar with the process, it is not an easy task. After determining the proper size and helping with identifying the glazing components the sashes were repaired The quality of work is excellent and they were completed in a day as promised. I would easily recommend Howells to friends and family.

Needed a sheet of plexiglass to use to hook up our standing air conditioner exhaust due to casement windows. Called Howell's and Julie was incredibly friendly and helpful with a quote on estimated measurements. Went in the next morning to place the order and drop off the exhaust I needed to connect. Didn't expect the exhaust vent to snap into place on the sheet of plexiglass but they beat my expectations. It took them 3 hours before they called me to tell me it was ready and tonight I got it into place and it fits perfectly and the exhaust snaps into place. Couldn't ask for a better fit or service

My husband order a piece of glass from them, almost 6 months ago. The gentleman that waited on me searched the store as well as a second building. Even thou there's a sign stating anything after 60 days will be cleaned out! I didn't think they still had it but I was wrong! He comes walking back to the store, holding the piece of glass.

Ask for a quote for a window. After about a week, I call in to inquire. Was told that the two people that did the quotes were both out the whole week. Ok, then talked to Bob and he told me he would get something to me. After about a week, I heard nothing. In the meantime, went to Lowe’s, got someone to come out, gave me a quote that day, and scheduled it for December. The installer came for the second quote the same day and moved the install date to November 12th

On Tuesday our front door was loose and I called Julie ,she set us up for service for Wednesday because of manpower issues.Two hours later the door hinge broke .again I called Julie she sprung into action and said she would work something out.25 minutes later Lantz arrived ,looked at the problem and had a solution he had us up and running in about a hour .excellent customer service .they turned a bad day into a great customer service experience .I would always recommend them .Thanks Julie and Lantz BOB MIDAS LANCASTER
