Johnny and the team at Smartscaping took on a tough sloped driveway project for me. They worked through a number of intricacies and his team did a great job working to make sure it was done right. Johnny is a good guy, takes him time to explain things and wants his customers to be happy. I have done a lot of work on homes over the years and this is one of the best crews in the Bay Area.

Johnny and the Smartscaping team was great to work with! Our project included replacing a driveway and adding some hardscape to the backyard. We had a general idea of what we wanted to do and Johnny filled in the details with some smart design suggestions.

Smartscaping team is beyond amazing, they can turn any space into a beautiful landscape. Johnny and his team were amazing! We shopped around for hardscaping and he was the most affordable choice for placing pavers in our yard. His work went WAY beyond this though. Johnny was a fantastic consultant, helping us make decisions as we designed our backyard and helped us add touches like posts for lights and set us up for our irrigation system. We cannot recommend Smartscaping enough!

I had a large project with plans already done from a landscape designer. I contacted Smartscaping for the work itself, and they set up a time to meet to go over the plans. We met in person, went over the plans, and they expressed strong interest in the project since it was a sizable one.
When I later explained by email that I would be seeking estimates from others, they ghosted me, presumably because they don't have confidence that they can be competitive. Draw your own conclusions, but it was a waste of my time.

I was very happy with Johnny and crew who tiled my backyard with pavers. Johnny came out and help us choose a good combination of tiles and offered a great bid on the job. My layout had come complex curves but the team skillfully cut the stones to make a beautiful border. The job was done in two days. I highly recommend.

We selected Smartcaping out of five companies we met because it had the most competitive and transparent pricing, and because its owner Johnny Silva was very knowledgeable and had great communication. Johnny was patient when we reconsidered some design elements. He continued to stay in touch with us between the time we signed the contract and the work started, and through the project work as well even though he was not on site.

I wanted to share some photos from my backyard paver project performed by Smartscaping.
Johnny has a great eye for design and his team does very professional work, both in terms of leveling and paver alignment (Johnny checked in regularly to ensure this was the case). They were also very time efficient, and exceeded my expectations or how quickly the project could be finished.
I'm very glad I went with Smartscaping, and have recommended them to friends.
Ps: I wanted to note that the back right flagstones with the dinette set were pre-existing - Johnny's work is far more elegant

After doing some research we decided to go with Smartscaping after meeting with Adele. We appreciated how easy she was to work with and was very straight forward.
We had a sloping yard which needed retaining walls and making a small yard into actual usable space. Adele was great in taking our feedback and drawing up a great plan incorporating our ideas and suggesting some great feedback into our plan.
Johnny's team is super hard working, very kind and very open to feedback. They did a super job turning our backyard from uninspired and unused space into something we can use on a daily basis

Johnny and his team did an amazing job on our driveway and walkways. He was careful to address some potential water drainage issues and took great care to cut and level pavers in challenging areas. Furthermore his crew was super hard working and remained focused on the task at hand throughout the multiple day job. Very impressive and now several of my neighbors want Johnny to do their driveways.

Kelly, Johnny, and team totally made our backyard a dream! I reached out to get a quote and I immediately got a response to make an appointment to come by to take a look at our space. Kelly came by and did a great job listening to what we wanted and got us a quote by the following week.
