We have owned and built several houses due our frequent moves in the military. Edward Sandelin is the best builder we have ever had. He is very responsive and listened intently as we discussed what we wanted in this house. Together we designed the perfect get away for our family and friends. Edward kept us well informed as the build progressed. He also made several great suggestions that either saved us money or enhanced our enjoyment of the house or both. We met Edward from an online search of local builders. His credentials and personality helped us choose him to handle the building of our dream lake house. He was very knowledgeable with the municipalities and the required codes for permits to efficiently move through to approvals stage. The great group of people that he contracted for more than 10+ years had created our dream home.

Full disclosure: Edward Sandelin is my son; however he did build a beautiful house for us. It was quite an intricate job for him, as we added a wine cellar basement, a latticed tile and wood floor and a fairly complicated radiant floor heating system. Even more testament to his temperament as a Builder in that he and his father didn’t kill each other.

Can I give more than five stars? We are experienced builders; this is our sixth home build. And I wish we could have had Edward before. He let us take our time deciding; no pressure selling here. He was open to any questions or concerns we had, and answered us promptly and fully. Edward gave us the benefit of his 20 years of experience, and made suggestions if he saw it was to our benefit. His follow-up is great; he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. I’m just sad our experience with Sandelin Custom homes is complete. Edward built us a beautiful house, and we absolutely love it. The biggest difference we found between Edward and some other builders is that he personally sat down with us and helped design our house, and pointed out great tips to improve our plans to fit our taste and goals.
When it came to building, if there were any questions at all, we spoke with Edward and he had clear explanations, so we really understood the building process. Ed built us a wonderful home, we couldn’t of asked for a better built house. He worked with our Architect to include all the amenities we were looking to include and added some of his ideas to further enhance our home.
Building in Mountain Lakes was somewhat of a challenge we thought but no problem for Ed.
He provided a budget and he keep us informed monthly as to the status. Final outcome was we came in under budget.
We will enjoy our new home for many years to come.
