40 years ago Al Couto came to America with a green card and ambition. He wanted to make a living, raise a family, and do something that he loved. He tried being a baker, opened a sandwich shop, and took a job in manufacturing, but it wasn't until the 70s, when Al began working for a construction company, that he found his niche.

We've been looking at their homes for a while. We finally contacted them to det-up an appointment. The first time we left a message and never got a call back. The second time the person we spoke with got our info and said someone would call to set-up the appointment. The third time the lady said they just send out an email and you go through a checklist. Why didn't this occur in the beginning. Then come to find out we are about 5 miles outside of their build zone. A complete waste of time.

I recently addressed an issue we had with the kitchen cabinet stain. Since the day Joey Cuoto was aware of the situation, he went above and beyond to make sure Cuoto would do what they needed to do to fix the issue and wanted us happy with our home. We started the process with Couto Homes in July 2021 and just before our first meeting in August the prices online increased quite a bit- which was our starting price. When we went back for our second meeting on September 1st we were informed the prices would be going up yet again but assured we would be locked in on our current pricing if we signed by the end of the month. On Monday, Sept. 13th we received our plans for the "final review" and were told we needed to sign by the end of the week to save ourselves from the current price increase. We have owned our home for 2 years and 2 months. We had a problem with the main A/C unit and it leaked through the ceiling into the dining room a couple months after moving in. Josh with Couto was there in 45 min of the initial call. Fast forward to this week. The same issue occurred and the same service occurred. Keep in mind we are out of the one year warranty. I spoke to Collin and Joey and it's taken care of. In my experience when I have had a problem (which we all will), they go above and beyond. Communication is the key. They do what's right.

Purchased a new construction home in 2019 from Couto Homes and have been very happy with our decision. Jim was our project manager, and even though the house was nearly completed when we purchased it, Jim was very helpful in answering any and all questions. We had an issue with the concrete driveway that ended up not being repairable, and Couto Homes agreed to replace the entire driveway. Overall, a very positive experience.

Extremely disappointed in this builder. I did a lot of research before settling on Couto. They were not the most expensive we talked to but far from the cheapest too. I feel we got next to nothing for the premium price, literally dozens of issues with our home and they’ve grown more and more unresponsive on warranty requests.

Wow. Talk about unresponsive. I was inconsiderate enough to show up without an appointment 5 minutes before the lunch hour ended, and after waiting till after 1pm, they wouldn't even let me and my clients in the door, even while looking directly at me through the door. When an employee let me in, I asked the receptionist - who identified herself as the person who would be our sales contact - about a particular home, she said it wasn't their home but did not say, even though I said the neighbor called it an *AL* Couto Home, that it was built by THIS Couto's father's company. We totally love our Couto home!! A wonderful experience from start to finish!!! Excellent communications all around. Couto is committed to excellence. Our builder Jim always answered my calls and was very informative in keeping me advised as to my questions or status of the project. The design team of Rob and Shawna were awesome in helping get our floorplan and design exactly how we liked it and with their professional touch of class!!
