Since 1983, Apco Paving Co. in Concord, CA has been offering residential and commercial paving services to the Alameda and Contra Costa area. We are a family owned, local business and we care about our community and want to be the trusted professionals you turn to for all your paving needs. Properly-maintained and well-constructed pavement has a life expectancy of 25 to 30 years. If properly maintained, pavement can begin to fail within 12 months after installation. The economical benefits are only part of the reason to stay on top of your pavement maintenance program. Re-construction: Better than starting over.
Without asphalt sealer, your asphalt starts to oxidize and lose the asphalt binder which is what holds the asphalt together. This usually happens six months to a year after installation of new asphalt. What the sealer does is replenish the binder which is lost from aging and weathering and gives your asphalt protection against weather, water, and chemicals such as gas and other oil products.

I had a very old asphalt driveway in absolutely terrible shape. Put off repaving it for too, too long. Asked on Nextdoor for recommendations. Got a recommendation of APCO and an address to look at the job APCO did last year for them. Checked it out and it looked great including a pressure treated 2 x 4 wood border. Also found another company using high Yelp reviews and got two estimates. Mike from APCO show up on time and listened to my needs which included regrading for better drainage, underground drain pipes from three house downspouts and better transgression from driveway to street to prevent

Hired this company to pave the parking lot in my commercial building. The process was simple from the beginning to the end. The owner responded promptly and gave me a detailed quote for the work. He was upfront about what they could or could not do, and pointed out potential issues with my original work plan, which I appreciated because I'm not a contractor or an expert. The work actually saved me quite a bit of $$ and the parking lot looks so much better. I also liked that they were conscientious of my schedule so as to not disturb the business. Would recommend to anyone considering asphalt

Jesse and crew are professional and very good at what they do. I’m not an expert but it’s clear that they have top quality equipment and years of expertise. I’ve had them complete two jobs over the years... first a large driveway in which they demo’d the old area, graded, and then laid new asphalt. Recently I had to cut out a section for plumbing repair and Jesse and team came out at a reasonable price to provide a patch. If you are looking for new asphalt or asphalt repair in Concord, Walnut Creek or surrounding areas then I’d give Jesse and crew a call.

This guys need better training for their customer service department. I called to cancel an estimate I had scheduled. The guy who answered the phone (I am hoping was not the actual owner) clearly was not happy that I had canceled. He was very rude and hanged the phone without allowing me to put another word in. Maybe he was in a hurry? Maybe! But, how about you learn some manners!. Now days customer service is everything! I won't be calling back ever!

This company did a good job with our parking lot as it was in really bad shape. But this review it's about the management team and the way they talk to their employees. We were surprised to witness it...definitely left a bad impression on all us all. Â We'll definitely not be using their services again or recomend for that reason alone.

I'm really bummed to leave a bad review, cause for what they did at my grandparents house- they did a good job... However I can't just sit here and be quiet about something that to me seems unfair and unprofessional.
People do pay attention Jessi, you need to find better ways to get the point across and not belittle the people working for you.
We understood every single word you said to those poor men working on the blazing hot sun. I can't imagine how you treat them when no one is watching.

We had a perfect experience with APCO. The project was a private street in serious need of repaving, with more potholes than pavement. Mike, the estimator, spent considerable time working with me on the contract. Their bid was the lowest. When one significant requirement was overlooked in the bid, APCO offered to include it without changing the cost; this REALLY impressed me.

We had a complicated paving situation that included regrading a 180'+ driveway to meet specific drainage requirements and work around an old oak tree that that had roots growing under the driveway. We had several contractors provide recommendations and quote the work. After careful evaluation of the quotes, reviews, and availability during the time window we had to work with we selected Apco. Use these guys! We have a long private road that hasn't seen any repair for 20+ years. Apco said they would grind, grade, compact and asphalt our street in a day. I really didn't think they could. They did. A beautiful job. Jesse and the Apco crew have obviously worked together for some time. They were efficient, worked hard and steadily, and were total professionals. No muss, no fuss, they got the job done. And price? So competitive I could hardly believe it. This was the first time I worked with a paving company and I just plain lucked out with Apco Paving Co. Jesse came recommended from a home builder and his firm was the most affordably priced of the three paving companies I met. They just completed a 2 day project repairing and re-sealing our street. APCO was on time and completed the project within the timeline we had discussed. I would definitely use APCO again.

Tim Hall whom was right on time to meet me estimated my work. When I decided to use AAPCO Tim stayed in charge to make sure the job which was a large parking lot with lots of curbs was completed perfectly! I was quite concerned it would cause me a huge headache with my tenants before it was finished however I received compliments on how polite,professional and accommodating everyone was while the work was happening! Tim will certainly be my first choice on my call list for paving and concrete!!

We recently hired APCO Paving to pave a large part of our driveway in Napa - they scheduled us in quickly, came early on the day of the job and worked through the day to complete the project within a day. The work was done well and they worked with us when we had some minor changes/tweaks. The owner and owner's son were both on site and working with the crew to make sure everything was done right. They brought in several large machines to grade the area, lay the asphalt and roll it smooth - an impressive operation. I am very happy with the work they did and would certainly use them again and

Beware !!!! Seemingly honest decent rep comes in and says the right things, sets a price, responsive, fabulous right? Wrong. They show up at 6 pm and the repair job to 2 12'x4' locations is all that was needed but we had to do in the dark by the lights of my car? serious. Friday Evening.
The previous contractor did not return and had left a temp slurry material which was breaking up throwing rock into street and pot holes. The request was to repair the 2 areas, pave and seal coat so matches rest of the street. Right? easy enough. I get there in the dark, they poured the same slurry

Long review- but worth the read!! The APCO crew literally just left my house. They arrived here at 8AM and finished my new asphalt job by 1:30PM. I had been waiting for over 15 years to decide and finally get a new driveway. Living with patched pot holes, cracks, root intrusion etc. Finally over a month ago I hit yelp and the internet and friend recs and started doing research. I got estimates from 9 different companies for the various materials; asphalt, over-lay, replacement, concrete, stone pavers. I had estimates for the same materials from almost all the companies to do a thorough comparison

I saw them paving another property and decided to call them. These guys are crooks. They gave a bid twice as high as everyone else I called, literally twice as much and Jesse's reasoning was complete BS. Further, their reference (the one I saw them paving) told me how terrible and unprofessional they were to deal with. Out of area contractors are much less expensive I have found.

Hired Jessie to replace my office building parking lot. The installation was done as scheduled and the work was done in one day. He had to elevate the lot a lot to get the drainage to work and the new location for handicap parking. The stripping job and overall results were excellent. I would definitely use APCO again.
