Starting with a dream in the early 80s, Mr. Chester Kurk and son-in-law, Michael McGinley, collaborated with backgrounds in engineering and corporate management to form an idea that would later become Kurk Homes. Although Michael (Dad) was related to Dziadzi (Polish name for our grandfather) only by marriage, they fed off each other in terms of business.

In 2009 I had chosen Kurk Homes to build my custom home here in Montgomery, TX because of how well managed they were with documentation outlining exact details of what was included in the building process. Over 10 years have now passed and I am still in awe how well everything is holding up inside and out.(knock on wood). Even with a massive 20' plus ceiling and flagstone hearth reaching to the very top, I have had literally zero issues. Even with very little maintenance everything looks just as good as when purchased. I am so glad I went with you guys and the 2x6 exterior walls really do provide

In late 2020, we moved into a new house built by Kurk Homes in Texas Grand Ranch. The home is beautiful; and the layout and square footage really works well for us. There were zero weather-related issues during the February 2021 snow storm thanks to the construction design.

After months of researching those who build in the Texas hill country, we decided on Kurk Homes with the help of Paul in the New Braunfels office. One thing we observed from the start was the involvement and professionalism of co-owner, Chris McGinley. Buying land, designing our home, building process and moving in is all a stressful process but they explained everything step by step they gave us honest and realistic expectations and exceeded them. We purchased an almost completed spec home from Kurk in April of this year. They were extremely easy to work with and so friendly! We loved having Kurk Homes as our builder. They built our custom home exactly as we wanted it with even a couple of bonus surprises along the way!! We were torn about our house placement as we were pretty sure we would have to cut down a large oak to fit the house in between the rest of the trees. Somehow they managed to get the house placement just right so that we are surrounded by all the beautiful oak trees without sacrificing them!

We just had Kurk Homes build a 4000 square-foot custom home on our lot, and as far as homebuilding goes, it went pretty smoothly! The home is stunning and we get compliments on it all the time, from both people who come over to visit as well as people who have just driven by and seen it. People constantly told us that building a home can be one of the toughest things on a marriage but I beg to differ! We have been through the building process four times and all with different builders. The thing I learned is: building a house is stressful and normally not a smooth process. It is just part of the business. You have so many variables to deal with; contractors, suppliers, construction managers, designers, architects, banks, government, weather etc. Things are bound to go wrong.

We've been in our home 6 months now and are still as excited and pleased as we were the day we took ownership. We love our custom Kurk home in the Boerne hill country! Working with Larry Rice and his assistant Lorenzo Pirritano was a really nice experience. Both are extremely professional. Both went out of their way accommodating us in all the building phases. Even when our home was completed Lorenzo went above and beyond to help us resolve a repair issue with our GE gas range. (.....take my advice and DO NOT purchase GE appliances, horrible service)

Kurk Homes built our home in 2012. They walked us through every step and we learned so much through the process. 4 years later we are still happy with our home and the service they provided during and after the build. I have called them on several occasions looking for advise for maintenance or other non-warranty issues and they have always been polite and helpful.
Last week Eli, from warranty offered to come by and help me out with an issue i was having (couldn't find the GFI reset for one circuit). He took the time to drive out and quickly found it for me!
