Red Bark Design
Tucson's Red Bark Design's landscape architectural services challenge the conventional idea of landscape design. Owner and landscape designer Darbi Davis works with homeowners, contractors and business owners to create distinctive outdoor spaces throughout the Old Pueblo. From urban courtyard gardens and residential properties to large commercial projects, you can count on Red Bark Design projects to always be locally and regionally sensitive.

As a near-native Tucsonan and past senior planner for Pima County, Darbi knows and loves the beauty of the desert, holding deep respect for its delicate ecology. Like most desert-dwellers, she favors landscape designs that synthesize a modern sense of place while being sensitive to Arizona's natural resources. As Darbi's client, you get the benefit of an integrated approach that leverages her master's degree in landscape architecture, studies in fine arts and anthropology, and a real passion for conservation.
Services
As a homeowner or business owner, you want a landscape design that not only brings beauty to your space, but also is manageable and long-lasting. Red Bark Design looks at the big picture, too, with a philosophy that considers the arts of conservation, restoration and preservation. Conservation authenticates the past, where we come from.
Darbi Davis has practiced in the private and public arena of landscape architecture for the past eighteen years. Her landscape designs can be seen at residential, commercial and institutional locations throughout the desert southwest, primarily in the greater Tucson area. Born and raised along the Gulf coast of Sarasota, Florida, and nearly native to Tucson, Arizona, Darbi is passionate about the natural environment.
Darbi uses art and science to improve your home landscape design. Her aim is for a visually appealing, functional ecosystem - a landscape design that considers what's best for you and the environment. Single family homes and residential communities make up the vast portion of the built environment.
Businesses want to connect people to places - the bricks and mortar where business is done. With a properly designed commercial landscape, your space can speak volumes to clients. Commercial landscape design gives clients a sense of your general business philosophy, and how you integrate your organization into the environment.
Container gardening is its own art form within landscape design. It's yet another example of the truism that "good things come in small packages." With container gardening, it's not only knowing what plants work together for the greatest wow factor, but also knowing which ones co-exist best in the confines of a pot, with similar light and water requirements.

So I can't speak to Darbi's landscape design (although if you peep her website, she does some pretty killer stuff) I can tell you that as a photographer she's amazing. If she is as patient and understanding with folks looking to upgrade their outside digs as she was with me when shooting a recent work event, I have to imagine she rocks the socks off the landscaping world! A pleasure to speak to over the phone, extremely kind in person, and great follow-up after the event...what more could you ask for? I tried to tell her that she should do more photography. I know it's not her
