We have been thrilled all summer with our new low-maintenance deck railing with "drink rail." In March, American Deck replaced our 30-year-old rotting white-painted railing. (Our 30-year old redwood deck was still sound.) The price was competitive. Sean Conway's knowledge of the products available contributed suggestions that made the end result better than we had hoped. The work was done by highly skilled men, timely, neatly, efficiently. There are many odd-angle miter cuts in our railing and all were made perfectly. Update: From 2 stars to 5 stars. First of all, the issues were addressed by the company and they did come out to fix the grout and provided extra stones to accommodate any further water drainage issues (which was causing the stones to go under the fence). I also have to disclose that we were new homeowners when I rated them 2 stars. I have since used multiple contractors for different issues and learned that Sean and co were actually pretty good. I was coming from a place of expecting perfection but that’s just not how it works, especially in contracting. Lesson learned and I would highly recommend

Best contracting company we have ever worked with, and we have fully renovated a three-story townhouse in D.C. so we have worked with many, many contractors. Having any work done during a pandemic can be a challenge, but working with Sean and his team was great. We had 4 estimates to replace a 36 year old deck with a composite deck. American Deck and Patio gave us a very detailed proposal with many options which helped us get to the amount we budgeted for the project. A couple of little hiccups were solved quickly and Sean answered any questions promptly. We love our new deck and look forward to enjoying it this summer.

They gave us a great idea of what to expect and a fair price based on what others were offering. He gave an estimated timeline and stuck with it. Excellent! We could not be happier with the work that Sean and his team did for us. They built us a beautiful screened-in porch (on a new deck), from soup to nuts, with everything we needed. We hired American Deck & Patio to build out a patio under our existing deck, as well as a grill/bar island and fire pit with surround seating. Sean and his group did a great job. From the beginning, Sean was very thorough in describing how the project would proceed. He kept us updated on the status during the job, and was responsive to any questions/issues we had.
