Starting a major remodel project (guest bathroom, new master bath addition, walk in closet, exterior work) during a pandemic comes with its own set of new challenges. We knew it's going to be tough - given all of the supply chain issues, construction boom, shortage of laborers, you name it. However, we were ready to do the project and did not want to delay it longer. We are glad that we chose CairnsCraft to help bring our project to life.

We chose CairnsCraft Design & Remodel to do a substantial remodel for us that included completely gutting and updating our kitchen, removing a wall to give our home the open concept feel, refacing our fireplace and installing new LVP flooring throughout. The planning, design, and construction were handled very well. We had a few years to think about what we wanted in our kitchen. One of those things was a cantilevered granite counter at one end of our island. I am beyond grateful that I hired CairnsCraft for this project and highly recommend them. The work was started in March just before the impact of COVID 19 was realized. I was out of town the first week and Marie provided me with daily progress updates. By the time I was back in San Diego, my kitchen had been demo'd and I had no plumbing or electric so the work that had to be done was essential. We chose Cairns Craft to renovate our kitchen and guest bath. They walked us through each phase of the process. From the beginning, with the design phase, they were flexible, helpful, patient, and supportive. The mobile showroom allowed us to select the cabinetry features we wanted to include in our design. After we had a design, the Cairns Craft team kicked into high gear. Marie sets the construction calendar and sticks to it. The bath/shower in my master was oversized (over 24 inches high) and at age 84 I could not safety get in and out of the tub. Therefore, I wanted to convert it into a walk-in shower. I had the good fortune to be recommended to Cairns Craft Design and Remodel for this project. We do not know if you realize that remodeling your house is a learning process. Through it you and your designer (in this case CairnsCraft) discuss specific area of your house that need to be worked, and discover a way to put the area into a new face. The purpose of remodeling is that at the end both you and your designer are happy: your house becomes a lovely house. I hired CairnsCraft Design & Remodel for a bathroom remodel (converting my old leaky cast iron tub into a shower) in my old house (built in 1924). I can't recommend them highly enough! From my first meeting with Charles, through the entire 3 week project, which was managed by Marie, I was consistently impressed by the professionalism and top-notch quality of work done by everyone involved in this project.

From the first meeting to our last, Charles and Marie never ceased to amaze me. Their expertise and vast knowledge and great suggestions were invaluable throughout the remodel. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Marie and Charles Cairns and their staff. What made it somewhat unique is that this is a second home for me and I was not there during the majority of the construction. I only visited twice. Marie was really terrific in keeping me informed of the progress at all times through texting, phone calls and emails and particularly in sharing pictures. Marie and Charles are wonder workers! They redid my mother's bathroom to make it handicap accessible during the time she was in rehab for a broken hip. I did the initial contact while in San Diego. went back home to AZ and then came back and worked with them during the tear-out and redo phase. As her home is over 50 years old, we ran into problems, but they did not let that keep them from completing the project in time for my mother to come home to a nice, brand-new bathroom!
