This was our parents' mission when they opened their very first lock shop on Monsarrat Avenue in 1972. They serviced homes and businesses; restaurants, vehicles, stores and mailboxes. Over time, our clientele grew and our shop moved from Diamond Head to Salt Lake, then Kaimuki. Now, over 50 years later, we are proud to offer the highest quality of work and wide range of services and goods for the entire island of O'ahu.

We needed another key fob to replace a lost one. We called the dealership but wow! They were going to charge for the key and programming so it was going to cost over $300!
We've used Salz before so we checked with them and it was way cheaper for everything. So easy! And they are super nice too. Programming takes about 30 minutes- no problem, we'll get a bite to eat at Mandalay red next door. Located on Waialae Ave on the right as you head towards the freeway, just past St Louis heights. Recommend them for all your key needs!! Support local!

We returned home from our vacation to find that we had some trouble getting into our condominium unit. Our lockset seemed to have been "tampered with" but chalked it up to the several occasions when someone had gotten off on the wrong floor thinking they're at their unit and then trying to open the door. However, one of our neighbors stopped by to tell us that their unit had been recently broken into. Of course, they reported the break-in to the police and to building management and then went on to say he heard about other unit owners who reported seeing or thwarting an unidentified

Walked in to get my mom's car key battery changed. I still have an old school key but new car key batteries I guess run out faster. They checked the battery strength using something on the wall. The gentleman said that they couldn't guarantee that it was a battery issue but that the strength was weak. He changed it right away within 5 min. Checked it on the wall thingy again and strength good. $20. And the key works. There are parking stalls marked for this business right in front.

If you want keys made right, come to Salz. Don't go anywhere else because other places are definitely hit or miss. I've been to a couple of City Mills, Ace Hardware, and...Wal-Mart (this was the worst). I've had keys that didn't work at all, keys that don't even go into the lock, and keys that work terribly. Is it really that complicated to cut keys? I guess they don't really hire professionals to cut keys at those bigger stores. Everyone is a professional at Salz.

I've always felt that you can get the true measure of a person by how they treat their elders. Two Kupuna came in separately, and they were both helped with respect and care.
Lots of (free) parking - that's always a plus!

Had keys made at City Mill recently for a listing I had. Took 15 min to find someone and wasted an hour getting back to the unit to find the keys didn't even work.
While down the road I heard of Salz. Keys made immediately with no issues. Definitely my new go to for all things lock related. Everyone was kind, place was adequate size, parking right out front.
Recommend highly! Don't waste your time at city mill. Save the aggravation and get it done right the first time!

Excellent service! Highly recommend going here for your lock/key fix. My car key clicker, the shell cracked. Big deal, very hard to start the car with the key not intact. We called the car dealership, they gave us the same 'ole round-about. We finally were able to get them to quote us $250+ & & $75 labor charge, for a new key/clicker. Damn!
