They completely scammed my elderly uncle. My uncle had a 3 yr old Trane AC unit installed and maintained by Home-Tech. Coastal called my uncle, led him to believe they were his AC company, scheduled an appointment to come out. When they got there, they told him his unit did not work and had to be replaced. The existing 3 yr old unit had a big Home-Tech sticker on it with the install date of Sept 2015 and the Home-Tech contact info for anyone to call w issues. There was also a permit on file at Sarasota county for the Sept 2015 install. They charged him $5884. We are fighting them now and

This company called my sister offering a $39.95 summer tune up. Thinking she probably needed it she scheduled an appointment. Instead of a tech showing up a scam salesman with little knowledge came. Fortunately my sister called me and I spoke with the scammer on the phone about all the numerous problems. First the unit was 13 years old, it was running hot pulling 6.7 amps when it should be 3.1, the unit was rusted and in poor shape and wouldn't last much longer. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! They sent out a salesman who was supposed to be an A/C tech to find out why my whole house A/C wouldn't cool. This guy looked around a little bit and saw that my refrigeration lines ran under the concrete slab and said, "Right there's your problem." He said lines that were run under the slab in this area are notorious for leaking. He didn't test for any other leaks. (It turned out that the leak was in the evaporator coil, and the company later came back after the new refrigerant lines (which they ran through my attic) were installed at a charge of

Beware!!! Liars!! Scam!!
They called me to set up a $49 service check up. Came out few days later and all of a sudden my unit was the worst he's ever seen and my freon is leaking and mold. The unit was extremely dangerous and the outside unit could catch fire it was running so hot. He called his boss immediately and said I better hurry to buy new one because they only had one left that had a $800 rebate! Wrote up bill for $5896!!
We didn't have any problems with it it was running just fine. We wanted a second opinion as soon as I told the "technician" AKA Salesman was gone.

I cannot stress enough - STAY AWAY from this company! They're quite attentive during the sales process but it ends as soon as they put in the unit. It looks like Cooter was here with a couple of guys he picked up along the way - the unit looks like it's going to fall at any moment (hanging lopsided, some sort of leak, cold air blowing out where it shouldn't be, pieced together at best) and a filthy mess was left behind by the installers (hand prints and dirt all over the walls, garbage). After the initial install, a "supervisor" came to inspect before the county inspection

Coastal Air does heavy phone marketing of $39.95 tune ups, but when they got here, they told me the unit wasn't not salvable and must be replaced. They did not do any of the tuneup or cleaning "because the unit is so brittle it would fall apart." They told me the unit would probably only last a few more weeks or months at the most. As proof, they provided a burned out "contactor" that supposedly put my home in jeopardy of a fire and showed me cellphone pictures of burned interior parts and pooled oil and water that was supposedly leaking from the unit into my attic.
