We specialize in re-roofing with composition shingles including Certainteed Landmark and Presidential shingles, GAF Timberline and Grand Sequoia, Pabco Premier and Malarkey shingles. Our metal crew specializes in Champion and Nu-Ray standing seam metal panels. For low slope and flat roofs we install Polyglass and Flintlastic single ply torch-down roofing as well as 60 mil PVC and TPO.

Our wood roofs are typically pressure treated Red Cedar, Premium, 100% edge grain Re-sawn or Tapersawn shakes. Premium shakes are available with 100% vertical grain (also known as edgegrain) made from the highest quality cedar blocks.

Commercial Work Report

While the majority of our work consists of residential re-roofing of single family homes, we also do work for various contractors, architects, homeowners associations and commercial property owners.

Cedar Shakes And Shingles Report

Although the supply of cedar has been greatly diminished in the last decade, it is still possible to get good quality shakes from "old-growth" cedar. Shakes are available in two widths: mediums are 1/2" - 3/4" thick, heavies are 3/4"- 1 1/2" thick at the butt end. The minimum quality shake permitted by code for roofing is a "No.1 Grade" shake.

Composition Shingles Report

There are many types of composition shingles on the market today, manufactured by companies such as Certainteed, Pabco, GAF, Owens-Corning and Malarkey. Shingles vary in weight, style and life-span, but all are made with asphalt, mineral granules, and a fiberglass base mat. The common 3-tab shingles come in 20 and 30 year versions and they are the least expensive.

We provide an array of services for the real estate market including 24 hour roof certifications, emergency roof repair service for property managers, roof maintenance programs, and more. Payment can often be made at closing from escrow and we are thoroughly familiar with all of the FHA, VA and conventional lender requirements.

Roof Certifications Report

In Washington State, many lenders require that the roof on a home being financed will last at least 5 more years from the date of sale. In the event of foreclosure and repossession, lenders do not want to have to replace the roof in order to sell the home.

Stout did a great job on our new roof. Jake was on time for our bid appointment and gave us a very fair bid. He explained what was included and our options.
His crew came out the day of, and started work immediately. Just a word to those working from home, your house will sound like World War III and an earth quake all in one. So don't plan on having any meetings or be very productive. It was LOUD!
Unfortunate for us we had water damage from improper installation 25 years ago from the previous home owner. We had to replace 70 plywood sheets. Jake informed us prior to the work and we could see

The quality of the work was horrible. Jake and his team claimed the work was finished when there were so many places were incomplete. He came back once to correct it, and didn't show up in our last appointment. And now one year later, I just discovered that some of the roof tiles were gone and some had warps. This is completely not acceptable. Stout Roofing is not standing behind their service. Their responses were always slow and didn't address the problems fully.
