I started a project without a firm plan to light a new set of concrete stairs. I contacted several electricians and lighting contractors. Steve (South Bay Lights) was the only one who responded that was able to help me. He helped us choose a design for our project and worked with the concrete contractor to get conduit installed prior to the concrete pour.
By informing my wife and I about product choices we didn't know existed, we were able to make our vision a reality.
With prompt and reliable communication from Steve, we were able to get an estimate and start the lighting after the concrete

Steve's work is excellent. The design process was quick. the outcome looks amazing - our neighbors commented how much it adds to the neighborhood, and I love being in our back yard. The install was seamless, and Steve's customer service is responsive, kind, and thorough. I highly recommend lighting design and install from Steve.

Steve did an excellent job from start to the finish. He knew exactly where to place the lights to maximize lighting in the planters while highlighting trees and stone work. He arrived at the time he specified for the quote and even finished the job earlier than expected. He is very honest and pricing is fair and about what I expected. Finally I found an honest Contractor that cares about doing a wonderful job!!

I rarely write reviews but Steve from Southbay Lights deserves one! We were looking for Bistro lighting for our backyard in the South Bay. I found Steve on Yelp. Steve showed up on time for the estimation appointment, gave us some ideas we had not considered for the design, suggested some other options like low voltage lights tied into our garden lights. Steve sent two quotes within a couple of days - we went with his design and the low-voltage lights. We had an older system in place that was not operating. We also had a separate section of new wiring we wanted to add to the line plus add in a third variant of lights that used to work with a Malibu transformer. Steve and Johannes Sussed out all of the issues, including the gardener enhanced problems, added new fixtures to replace the damaged ones and got everything lit up and looking beautiful again.

I was interested in updating and adding to my existing outdoor lighting. I contacted Steve at Southbay Lights and we scheduled a time to meet. During our meeting, Steve looked over the existing lighting! Took pictures and made suggestions as to replacing and upgrading the lights. I expressed an interest in timers being installed as well. I am so lucky I found Steve via the NextDoor app! I just had backyard lighting installed at the end of June and I could not be happier with what he did!! Not only does he have a great eye for the 'design' he also executed everything as planned, which is a great relief. No surprises!

When I wanted to redo my landscape lightings last year, I called several companies to provide me with quotes. Southbay Lights professionally installed low-voltage outdoor LED lights at my house and I could not be happier. Generally I do short reviews but I am so pleased with the quality that I want to help them drum up more business.
