Living in the upper story of duplex, the owner of this Northeast Minneapolis home was feeling hemmed in. He and his fianc were planning their future together and felt that they needed more space to make room for their family. The attic of this century old duplex seemed ripe for development with its vaulting roofline, large gables and dormers.
This modest project was a proposal for a garage with second floor bunk house intended to alleviate pressure at the client's summer cabin. As family grew and children of the owner began to have children of their own, so too grew pressure on accommodations at the cabin and the need for additional bedrooms and bathroom space.

Ben of Braun Architects was wonderful to work with. He listened to our needs and ideas for our renovation project and came back to us with several design solutions that fit our lifestyle. Ben also went above and beyond and gave us ideas for our space that we hadn't even considered. Ben did an amazing job working through all of the structural challenges of our older home and partnered with the engineer to help avoid any big surprises. Ben also helped us connect with a contractor and was with us every step of the way throughout the planning and design process. In the end, we chose not to complete

Braun Architects were wonderful to work with. I met with Ben to design my kitchen. Ben designed a beautiful, functional kitchen. He discussed in depth about what was my vision, what exactly will work while taking into consideration my budget. I really love that Ben listens. I have an older house so Ben went over with us about surprises once they demo. This really helped because I had never done a major renovation like this. Ben was right there to discuss and make revisions. He made a very stressful situation easier to deal with.

Great experience with Ben. We had a difficult and complicated kitchen to remodel. He worked closely with us and was professional, reliable and listened to what our needs were in the process. His plans were precise and allowed the contractors to implement the changes. He also followed up quickly on any of our requests or changes to the drawing. Highly recommend Ben for your project.
