Rent an 8' x 10' storage unit. This unit will accommodate a mattress set, bed headboard, a sofa, table and chairs, patio furniture, washer/dryer and stacked boxes. Many sizes can work for records which are best stored in boxes. Consider shelving to help you store and search for records when you need them.

I called over 10 self-storage companies in Seattle and by the end of my research, Northgate Self Storage was the clear choice. They have the most reasonable prices, and no hidden fees (unlike pretty much all of their competitors. Staff was professional, competent, and helpful. Setting up my storage unit took less time than getting a haircut. Highly recommended.

I have had storage units for years, both the large corporate type and smaller mom&pop type. This place is of the latter type, private, accommodating and with a very pleasant staff. They may not have the best hours since they do close a little early for my needs but the fact that there's always someone on site (the manager lives there) adds a level of security that makes up for it hands down.

Awesome staff!!! Robert was so helpful and pretty much saved our lives when the person who rented the truck we had reserved never showed up to return the truck we came to Northgate self storage and Robert helped us get into a truck and on our way and also helped us get a unit as well as we had originally planned to use a different location to store our things. Northgate Self Storage was a better price and you can't beat the forklift to help you move heavy furniture. I would highly recommend using them for any of your storing needs.

Straight up no frills storage, the way it should be. Its not where you're gonna keep the family jewels or your climate sensitive hippie furniture. But if you have a few extra boxes or just need to rent a space to store your stuff in the middle or at the end of a move, its great.
Helpful staff and they have a forklift on site to assist with heavier loads in the upper spaces. Best of all, no contracts. You start month to month and that's how it ends. Its all very basic and while not upscale, far more affordable and a good secure storage spot in Seattle.

We've worked with Northgate self storage for about 7 months, and the experience has been 100% satisfactory every time. There are some stairs, but the employee driven forklift and readily available carts makes move-in/out really easy. Management has been nothing but helpful as we rented their vans a few times during this period. Special shout out to Brian for being awesome and super helpful! Thank you!

Everyone who works here is incredibly helpful! I was very impressed by the excellent customer service, I accidentally left something in a u haul I rented and they called me later that day and held it until I was able to come pick it up. They helped me move things to my upstairs unit with a fork lift, making it MUCH easier.

I rented a U-Haul van from here, picked it up 6:15 pm to transport a futon. This location does not have after-hours drop-off, so we had to come back to drop the van off the next morning at 8. I waited there from 8 to 8:35, when the guy showed up. I don't know whether that's characteristic or not, but the lack of apology or even mention of being 35 minutes late prompted me to write this review.

I have been a customer at Northgate Self Storage for a year and a half. Both of the regular people who work there have always been very friendly to me, and have gone out of their way to be helpful to me on numerous occasions. Their prices are a bargain by Seattle standards, and the place is clean, well kept-up, and well looked-after. By far my favorite of the self-storage places I have used, and I highly recommend them.

Situation:
Self storage unit rented and paid for 3 months starting on March 4th. 1 month paid prorated, 1 month paid in full, and 1 month as a promotional freebie.
Unit was used for approximately one month, and in April, I went in and personally asked them to close my account and refund the 3rd month that was paid in advance. On the receipt, it shows that the 2nd month, that of April, was considered the "freebie" month and shoes a "discount" of $65.
I was told my account was canceled in April when I went in, and that they would contact me about the refund for the last month
