We are currently dealing with a years long ordeal on one off our two expensive top of the line fireplaces we purchased for our 2021 new home construction. We bought a Town & Country for our downstairs living room and an Ortal fireplace for our master. We have had to demo the drywall 3 times around our Ortal after the unit bangs and knocks all night after using it. Capo Fireside installed this unit. Botched the order. Classic contractor excuses, always the other guys fault.
Despite a great sales guy, the install guy ordered the wrong part, or maybe failed to order it altogether, and failed to check the order and failed to communicate and stood us up on the day of installation and blamed the supplier and failed to organize a proper response, like it's been reordered correctly and it will be here this day and this is new install date and here is a credit to make up for our utter botch job.

Use the fireplace company in Blackhawk and put these smucks out of their misery.

I must say that Capo Fireside (Concord) dose have a slight "return your call" problem, but the service team is great. The young man who did the service on my fireplace let me know that I had the wrong shelf mantel above my fireplace that could cause a fire in my home. Sorry I can't remember his name but I am forever grateful. Please give this guy a raise.
To do the replacement install they sent out two young men that were very professional. You could tell that they knew what they were doing. When they finished the install not a drop of dust was anywhere. Everything was NEAT and CLEAN

It was a custom installation and it came out better than I had hoped.
I love the unit and how it looks. It fits right in with our rustic interior. I had been dubious about getting a gas fireplace as I love wood burning but it is a practical move and beautiful
The techs Sammy and Eric really did a great job and Jared the manager was patient with our aesthetic requirements.

Although their scheduling is a little unreliable sometimes they will eventually show up if you call them enough.
One of our Montigo fireplaces had a broken thermocouple and the other had a gunked up pilot light.

After a terrible experience with an established fireplace/stove company in Walnut Creek, I went in search of a different company to work with and learned of Capo Fireside on Nextdoor. I met Mike at Capo's Concord store and he was amazing to work with. My project was not a simple one, but Mike said that he was up for the challenge....and he did not let me down. Mike helped make my project go smoothly by referring me to a plumber/electrician (Dave Titus of EPI ) and tile store (Modello Tile Studio) who were also great to work with. It is so nice to write a positive review of a local business. I ordered a prefab concrete mantle and was told it would take two to three weeks to get it. Guess what? It came in on time. When Capo called me to let me know it was in I told them that it would take me a couple of days to find someone to help me off loaf it at my house. They immediately offered to deliver it to me and showed up thirty minutes later. It was installed today and I couldn't be happier about how it looks. The sales experience was positive and they installed a beautiful Mendota fireplace insert in January 2018. Installation went well too.

When the fireplace refused to light/stay lit recently we scheduled a $249 service call, because the manufacturer's full warranty only runs for a year (some components are warranted for life). The service technicians were on time and professional. They checked everything out, replaced a couple of solenoid valves and spent about 90 minutes all told. They found a slight crimp in the flue venting, which appeared to have happened during installation. The next

They installed a fireplace and it leaked a little water in through the vent out the back. I called them to have them look at it and they sent out a crew. They told me they didn't know what happened and it should be fine next time it rains. 2 weeks later it rained and it leaked so much water it damaged the subfloor. Ben was nice on the phone and came out to look at the vent and suggested caulking around it and told me to take it apart. I had a licensed general contractor come and look at the vent and he said it leaked through the vent, had nothing to do with the surrounding area. When I explained

I went to their showroom, got a quote. Spoke with Mike Gorrono their design center manager over the phone and also got a quote from him. When he came over to measure the space they decided to increase the price by over $2,000 for the exact same product. I guess if you have a nice house and a nice car park in the drive way price changes. He continue to give me the excuse that he had quoted me on the wrong fireplace, which was total BS because in his quote it was the correct item number. STAY AWAY from this company.

We learned a lot from Mike that the other places didn't inform us about: two burners vs only one; Range of BTUs.
Their price includes installation and again they are pros. The other places don't always include installation so who do you go to if there is a problem and the seller points to the install team? Not at Capo!

Capo was referred to us after we were looking to convert our fireplace to a gas insert. We went to the showroom and ordered a Mendota floor model unit on 10/31/2018. After several months, various issues on ordering parts, and 7 visits to the home, we finally have a functioning unit as of 2/13/19. Each time someone came to the house to fix an issue, they were gracious, polite, and would apologize for the miscommunication on their end that resulted in the multiple visits. I am happy to give Capo Fireside five stars. Their business in North Concord was easy to find, off Hwy 4. The showroom has plenty of working fireplaces to view. And our salesman, Mike, was helpful and relaxed and knowledgeable. He has plenty of experience, and I really appreciate that. He helped us determine what would work best for us, he came to our home to take measurements, helped us set up the plumber for gas line and electrician to get the plug-in ready. Everything was done in a timely manner and each person did what they said they would do, in the time frame given. I love a well-run business

I highly recommend Capo Fireside. We recently replaced a wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. We worked with Mike and Roger on the sale and installation. Both of them were very knowledgeable and helpful. Mike visited our home to measure the existing frame and helped us narrow down the options. We went to Capo Fireside based on all the positive reviews on Yelp and are glad we did. Mike is amazing. He came and measured the dimensions of the fireplace twice, gave us ideas on how to dispose off the existing insert, and recommended various contractors for electrical, plumbing and finishing.

The installation crew of Omar and Tony were great. They were on time, took great care during the installation and cleanup and were very helpful. The insert looks beautiful and we are extremely satisfied with Mike and the team at Capo.

I tried to get fireplace doors through a different East Bay company that sells fireplace inserts, doors and barbeques, etc. They didn't have exactly what I wanted in fireplace doors, but I thought what they showed me would be all I could get from a local company that will obtain the doors and install them for me. But after answering my questions and measuring my fireplace, once I was ready to have the doors installed, there was no more follow-through from that other company. They kept repeatedly delaying giving me an estimate in writing and/or a contract to start the work. So finally,

NOT very consumer friendly. Bought 1 item, not even special order, in case we needed it. Saw NOTHING about a restocking fee nor was anything on our receipt. Now, in order to return a tube of caulk, a 25% restocking fee would be charged on such a simple item??? NOT customer friendly.

Mike in Sales is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Roger in delivery and installation is reliable and his crew knows what they are doing.
We ended up with two fantastic fireplaces, one for the outside living space and one for the living room.

We were in the process of doing a remodel and thought a fireplace upgrade would be nice. The local fireplace company was a couple months out on install so a builder I know recommended Capo.
I worked with Ed and he answered all my questions and shot me a proposal. We then took a run to the concord show room. Were able to see the product and get more answers. They had the fireplace installed in no time. Turned out pretty cool! If you are in the market for a nice fireplace call them!

We purchased a full Capo gas fireplace late last spring. Well, the weather has cooled off and we can finally use it. We absolutely love it The convenience is wonderful. We have a 2 story house and in the morning or evening we turn on the fire and it grays up the area quickly. We have barely turned on the heater. Capo did an excellent job installing and showing us how to use the product. They have a nice showroom and their customer service was excellent. Definitely recommend this company!
