At the age of 14, Ray Metzler began building kitchen cabinets as a hobby. At 17, he began working for a contractor. In 1952, at the age of 24, someone asked him to build them a house. Then his sister and brother-in-law asked Ray to build a house for them, and his contracting business was set in motion.
Some builders do a few remodeling jobs on the side to fill in the gaps on new housing projects. Then there's Steven R. Metzler. Along with the custom homes for which Metzler Construction is well known, about half of the company's business comes from remodeling projects. From small projects to total renovations, no remodeling job is beyond the expertise of Steve and his team.
