Bob Swanda joined the company in 1975 as a truck driver and became an important part of IRC. Swanda was elected to the MRCA executive committee in 2000 and was president of the MRCA in 2004. In 2008 MRCA presented IRC with the McCawley award - this is the highest award presented by the MRCA for service to the industry.
Bob joined Independent Roofing Company as a truck driver in 1975. His future mother-in-law was the bookkeeper and his future grandmother-in-law had been the bookkeeper for many years before that. The truck driving job was intended be a step in another direction but ended up being the step towards a long career with IRC.
Independent Roofing Company is dedicated to the highest safety standards for our employees and our customers. IRC is a member of the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association's Safety and Health for Roofing Professionals Program (SHARP). As part of the program, criteria is in place to ensure safety of the Independent Roofing Company employees and others.
