Steve from Steel-T came out to replace a gas valve on my furnace. After examine and testing the gas valve he determined that it didn’t need replacing. He could have done the replacement and charged me for it but showed his honesty and integrity by not doing that. He explained things in detail while here. His professionalism, honesty, and competence was very impressive! I will use Steel-T in the future and will request Steve if possible,

I have had the pleasure to use Steel-T on two occasions now. Today I was visited by Josh and Steve. Josh was also the tech that visited me about two years ago. I can't commend these two enough. They are two of the most professional individuals that I have ever had the pleasure to have in my home. They were timely, polite, respectful and just great individuals. We've used Steel-T for years. Unfortunately, I made the dumb decision to go with someone else because of speed. They attempted to troubleshoot our issue, but ended up telling us we needed a new unit ($6,000+). We went back to Steel-T for a 2nd opinion, and the tech (Joe) found the root cause in less than an hour and had us up and running the same night.

Very pleased with our experience using Steel-T. They were always up front with the type of equipment and what we would be receiving with our new furnace and AC install. Technicians were prompt, efficient and kept the premises clean during the install. After the install, the tech thoroughly went over the new system components and how to operate it. The technician was fabulous. the company not so much. the company knows that my particular furnace has a defective part manufactured by Carrier and that it only takes a flick of the wrist to spin a wheel and the furnace will turn on, possibly being that the furnace will last many more years. they do not tell you to try that, but instead send someone out who then charges the standard fee of $185 for a minimal maintenance call. I'd say that was pretty minimal and I could have done it myself.

I called to have thermostat fixed or replaced. $69 service charge regardless. OK. Then, another $149 minimum labor, but I was unable to get a price for parts. Once in the door the tech informed me it would be a set price of $288 for replacement of thermostat plus the $69!! It took him 40 minutes of work and cost $359. Outrageous. Management was rude when I complained.

These guys did a great job working on my furnace yesterday. Called them about installing a humidifier which they gave me a good price on the part and installation, but they also discovered that I had a small gas leak which they instructed me to contact excel to investigate further. Excel came out verified that I did in fact have a gas leak and turned off my furnace until it could be fixed. Called back Steel T and explained the issue and they were able to come back to my house within 30 minutes to fix the furnace and get it turned back on so the kids wouldn't get cold. Great experience!!! My furnace was short cycling, but eventually still getting to the correct temperature.
An estimate from one of their competitors quoted me $1000 to disassemble and power wash away 'construction debris' that was causing my furnace to get too hot and shut down prematurely.
The technician from Steel-T showed up on time and, in a professional manner, told me that my furnace was one of the cleanest he's ever seen and that there was little to no construction debris present. He adjusted the flow of gas (lowered it) to the furnace and raised the blow fan speed...PROBLEM

Terrible customers service from the Service Department-especially John-who said he is the manager. Have used this company for several years (five?) now, but they have gone way downhill. In this past year I have had 2 bad encounters, both with scheduling appointments and then John the manager. Just don't have their act together anymore. John was very unprofessional in his communication. When I told him I thought it unreasonable to be waiting 17minutes, just to schedule an appointment, for the 2nd time that my less than 1 year old furnace was not working-he was short and yelled at me, "

I was not happy when I had someone come out from steel t to look at furnace and saiD good tO go. Then 4 months later it goes out and lose motor. Coldest night with 9 inches of snow and steel tells us no one can come out because of snow. Are you kidding. Never again. Called bell plumbing and they came out.

Dishonest!!! We called Steel T this weekend when our AC unit went out. I asked them what they charged to come out. $69. I said ok. A repairman came as promised and told us it would be $79 for a diagnostic fee. We were NOT told of this charge when we asked for service. So, just to recap: walk in door $69, look at u it for 5 minutes $79! Our unit is under warranty and the guy said we needed a new coil.. etc... he said the part alone costs $400 and that is covered under our warranty. Then he proceeds to tell us that with all the labor it would cost us $1200 to fix! Said it would take 4-6 hours!

The quality of Steel T technicians varies wildly. Some were incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Others...not so much. One installed a filter backwards (the next Steel T technician noticed the mistake). One broke our humidifier by overtightening and cracking a part. One ordered the wrong part which delayed our repair by weeks, and Steel T accused us of ordering the wrong part when we weren't even part of the conversation. For the prices they charged, we expected better and more consistent service. We have switched to a different service company.

After Customer Service Rep (Alison?) told me to drive 45 minutes to their shop to pick it up, Supervisor John told me if I wanted a replacement part for the whole-house humidifier they installed, which was still under a valid manufacturer's warranty, I had to pay them to install it. I'm an engineer and fully capable of replacing a simple solenoid valve, and warranty service tie-ins are ILLEGAL under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 (seriously, look it up). Thankfully when I called Honeywell to complain they sent me the part directly, which took me about 15 minutes to install and

I have a sticker on my brand new furnace that says "24/7 service. Our guarantee is your piece of mind". My furnace went out last night at 950 pm, and after I called Nest for an hour I called them for service. Chris was very rude, could not have been any less helpful, and said he couldn't send anyone after 1030 pm. I explained it was an emergency and that my sticker guaranteed service and all he said was he can take a message. They should not say they are a 24/7 service company if they are not.

Sister in law recommended Steel T heating and A/C because the thermostat stopped working. They came the same day we called for service. They called 10 min out to let me know when they would arrive. Two very professional men arrived and fixed problem in less than ten minutes. Asked if system had filter and they took me to it and how to change it. Brought a new filter in and changed it for us. Very reasonable price with very professional workers who gave me a lot of extra pointers on keeping system running great.

Because Steel-T did such a great job servicing our old furnace and AC over the years, it came time to replace our system. From start to finish, the process was perfect and our expectations have been exceeded. This is a great company!
UPDATE- We have enjoyed our system since it was installed last winter. Steel-T came back and did a follow up visit a couple of months ago. Now that it is hot, boy are we sooooo happy with our AC! The difference is night and day. We are nice and cool 24/7!! Our old one could never keep up because the homebuilder undersized it. The new one we have is awesome!

Steel T is great. We had another heating company that incorrectly installed a water heater for us, and Steel T was there the same day to fix the problem. They also helped us with our dispute with the other company.

I arranged with Steel T to have their two-season maintenance package. Shawn was scheduled to come today, and as requested he called a half hour before arriving. He spent over three hours here, taking apart the furnace and thoroughly cleaning the blower and other parts. I have pets, so there was a lot of cat/dog hair and dander. He was wonderful, explaining in detail what he was doing and afterward listing all the performance results on the job sheet/receipt. It was very impressive.
