Dependable Plumbing is committed to providing high-quality, affordable plumbing services to residents living in Savannah, GA and the surrounding areas. Owner, Chet Jernigan and his wife Kellie started Dependable Plumbing in September of 1996, and Chet had 13 years of training with a reputable company.
The kitchen is filled with a lot of your home's plumbing. From the dishwasher to the sink, faucets and garbage disposals, there are a variety of plumbing fixtures. With so much going on in one location, it is important to make sure that all components are working properly. In most cases, we take these things for granted until one fixture is out of commission then we see how it can really affect our day.
Cracks in your walls or flooring, mildew or excessive moisture under your carpet, and hot spots in your flooring are all possible indications that you have a slab leak problem. If your slab is cracked, you are losing water, which results in a higher than normal water bill and could cause serious water damage to your property.
If you notice your pipes are cracked or corroded or have burst, call in the experts to clear your sewer lines. We can repair your existing sewer and water lines or install new lines. We can also unclog kitchen sinks, showers, tubs, bathroom sinks, toilets, and floor drains. If it's becoming a recurring problem, we can provide you with maintenance tips and tricks depending on the location of the clog.
Did you know that natural gas is one of the most common forms of energy for residential customers? This affordable way of heating is relatively safe and efficient, but can pose hazards if you are not careful. Natural gas creates a by-product known as carbon monoxide. This is very harmful when inhaled and most people do not know it is present because it is both colorless and odorless.

I always hesitate to leave a bad review, but sometimes it is warranted. It appears that I made a mistake by not checking Yelp before scheduling an appointment with Dependable Plumbing. Dependable is definitely not "dependable". I can't attest to their plumbing skills, because they never showed up, but can address their lack of common courtesy. I was stood up three times in one day by "Dependable".
I fully understand that things can come up, such as a flat tire, but there is no excuse to not call or text the scheduled client. So, while Chet may or may not be a good plumber

Would give ZERO stars if I could
I had a leak in the water service line in the yard.
Called Dependable and made an APPOINTMENT.
He didn't show.
Showed up a day later and said he was busy.
Meanwhile hired a leak detection company to pinpoint the leak location.
Made another APPOINTMENT with Dependable to fix on Tuesday.
Again, a no show on Tuesday... no call... no nothing...
On THURSDAY, a service guy called because he
"couldn't remember the address"...!
My yard guy said a plumbing truck showed up... looked... and LEFT.
I called the company to see what's up...
He said,

Dependable was professional and took our plumbing job of replacing all out pipes when other companies refused. They even worked New Years Day to get the job done. We were very pleased at their speed and going the extra mile to add a garbage disposal.

2 separate occasions had dependable plumbing respond promptly to separate problems. 1st one was a gas line leak from the meter to the house, they were able to abandon the old line and run a new one to the house from the meter and the 2nd was what we thought was a plugged vent line for the sewage, Dependable responded again and tried everything they could to diagnose the issue until they discovered there was a septic issue happening. Very pleased with their work!

Had a broken water main on Friday night before labor day weekend. Called them and the Robert called me right back. We arranged for a time for him to come and he did a great job! Really nice guy and did what he said, when he said! Highly recommended!

One star is generous. My water heater went out and I was given a quote of $1,300 to replace it, because they knew what size water heater I needed as they had already replaced several in my town home complex. The water heater was too big. So, since my old water heater has already been removed, I asked how much the smaller water heater would cost. I was told, "the charge is $1,300." Ok, fine, since I was now in a bind. They swapped out the water heaters, cleaned up after themselves, and left. When I went upstairs, they had dripped black water all over my carpet and had destroyed
