Serving Dane, Columbia & Eastern Sauk Counties including the Wisconsin Dells & Lake Wisconsin Areas. Five dedicated, hard working guys, with different expertise in all different aspects of HVAC joined forces. With a plan that took over a year to develop (as business picked up & grew) the group finally had enough business to sustain and employ all of them.
Like most businesses they worked out of personal vans, and garages. For the first year Terry Hillestad's garage was the main shop. Eventually they had enough business to open an official office, in downtown Lodi, that was in the basement of a dental office. In 1991, Hillestad bought vacant land in an industrial park to build the first official office and sheet metal shop.

We had several different issues going on at our rental unit and called several other contractors to come out and help us fix our water tank and heat issues. Every other contractor failed and left our home without a working heating system. When we reached out to Hillestad's they diagnosed the problem right away and sent a team back the next morning to get both our heat and water tank back up and working properly. I'll never call another HVAC service again. I highly recommend them.

We worked with Dan to give us a quote for a split system to be installed in our cabin. We received a quote within a week and were able to schedule an install shortly afterwards. Crew that came to install was professional and quick. We also reached out to Dan after install to get a few questions answered, which he was quick to respond to. I wish all contractors were this professional and responsive. We will be returning to Hillestad for our future business.

I wish I could remember my technician’s name but he was awesome!! 3/15/21, We were referred by Ron to get help with our thermostat. A tech arrived with less than four hours notice to assist us in Fitchburg WI. In the midst of the job, he noticed a potentially very dangerous situation. Our furnace tubes were so badly corroded and water from old rusted and broken tubes was filling up near electrical lines. So even though there was a hazardous snow storm, he drove across town from Fitchburg to McFarland WI to purchase some missing pieces. Then he returned in record time to help fix our dilapidated

We had an opportunity to convert from LP to natural gas and decided to replace our 20+ year old furnace and AC along with our water heater. Hillestad came in with the best bid to do the complete job. They arrived promptly on the date and time agreed upon. The installation went smoothly. We went with the Ecobee thermostat as an upgrade and a tech explained how to operate this device. (Love it!) We had used Hillestad for a couple of repairs in the past and received equally as good service. We highly recommend them over the other local HVAC contractors.

Just wanted to send you a note to say how great Shawn and Ryan were at installing our new 2-stage Bryant furnace. They did a great job with the install as well as explaining the 2-stage function being controlled at the furnace level so that we wouldn’t have to figure out how to run it at the thermostat. Both were cordial and professional, and knew what they were doing every step of the way.
Excellent work, which is of course what I have come to expect over the years from Hillestad.

I used Hillestad recently and was super impressed. They had excellent communication skills, were super nice to work with and were very knowledgeable.
When I called the office, the scheduling person was super nice, and got someone out right away. They first came out to check out our furnace which was leaking water. The tech was very knowledgeable and friendly.
We ended up needing we new furnace, so we had the sales person out next. He was also great to work with, and did not pressure us to do any upgrading or to purchase any extra things.. And finally, Hillestad sent two guys out to install the

We had a gas leak that required we replace a large section of pipeline and several connections. I called in the morning and spoke with Brenda, she did a great job coordinating to get someone out to me that day! Dennis, the technician that arrived, was very nice, did a great job and worked very quickly. Everything was ready to go by early afternoon! 😊
Once we got the gas back on (which took a bit as Aliant Energy was needed to turn it back on) the furnace rattled a bit more than normal. The next day I called Hillestad and explained the issue. They once again, went over
