The Paint Guru has been in business for over 30 years, just not under the same name. Let me explain. Our original (legal) name is TS Services Inc. Approximately 16 years ago we entered into an agreement with 1-800-PAINT-JOB to use their number for marketing purposes. About 2 years later we took on the DBA 1-800-PAINT-JOB of San Diego and have been doing business as such ever since.
The Paint Guru has been providing excellent local painters and service to the Rancho Bernardo, CA area since 1988. We are based in Rancho Bernardo but we will take on residential and commercial painting projects throughout the Rancho Bernardo area; including Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, 4S Ranch, Poway, Carmel Valley, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Scripps Ranch, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Rancho Penasquitos.

I really can't count how many things were done poorly, but the straw that broke the camel's back was when, one year later, I went to touch up some paint and got the 5-gallon paint container that they left for me with "extra paint." Take a look at the first picture. This is how those guys disposed of their waste.
Each room has mistakes, and in order to work quickly, there are spots where I can either see the previous color underneath (which means they only did 1 coat of new paint), or I can see thick brush marks. Their edges around things were not very good (see photo), and they left drips in places

David and company are awesome! We chose Dave years ago, to paint the outside of our house, and he did a bang up job. Many of our neighbors have also used him (word of mouth). Fast forward to now, and of course, we called him back for our interior. We wanted to redo the dated white interior, the staircase railing, and a fireplace. David sent out a paint consultant, who helped us pick the right colors. We are so grateful for her input. I can't imagine how bad we would have screwed it up, without her! David, David, Ryan, and their crew are INCREDIBLE! Their attention to detail was very apparent and they took their time to make sure our home looked perfect. We used The Paint Guru to paint our house from head to toe - ceilings, walls, all cabinets, and baseboards. We recently had the entire interior of our home painted by The Paint Guru. Prior to selecting the colors we were provided a free consultation with a color consultant who did a great job helping us select the different colors. The painters were very professional and did a great job and left very sharp edges around moulding and windows. It all came out great and we couldn't be happier with the job they did. We recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

Was expecting a few days to stain our fence but it was done in 1 day. Nathan was so meticulous and worked all day! Wasn't an inconvenience to us at all. He was clean, laid drop cloths all around. I hired the Paint Guru to paint selected stucco sections of my house that had been stained by the elements. The paint match was ok, but not great. The problem was that his crew tried to patch hairline cracks in the heavily textured stucco. Huge mistake due to the patches not matching the texture of the rest of the exterior walls. The patches stood out like racing stripes on the house. It looked like the house had been vandalized. It took David several return trips before the final product was acceptable. Not good. Just acceptable.

We had an amazing experience with The Paint Guru! We have been in dire need of painting our eaves and fascia on our home for many years. We have used this company to paint the outside of our house twice over 15 years and the inside once. We have always been impressed with the quality of the work. Even though they are not the lowest price, their work is good and worth more to me. But in our most recent experience, we had the outside of the house painted by them in April 2020. We did a lot of research and The Paint Guru kept coming up as a referral! We got 4 painting quotes to paint the exterior of our 2 story home.
