Justin and Shuntay Wright created their second business, Small Task in 2018. A motivated husband and wife moved to Austin TX from Northern California to build their business. When they first got to Austin, Justin worked doing odd jobs for TaskRabbit or doing orders for favor. Shuntay kept the finances under control by taking a traditional job for consistency with pay.

Justin gave us a competitive quote and seemed to be a professional and direct. He asked for an up front payment for some gutter machinery he needed but then he had a personal/family crises which I was sympathetic to and was willing to wait. However after over 3 months and numerous promises to come by and complete the work order (sanding deck, gutter install, light drywall) he stopped communicating and never followed through or provided any further explanation.

We hired Justin and Shuntay to paint the trim and interior doors of our house. The job did take quite a bit longer than was originally quoted which wasn't ideal but that was mainly due to the horrible job that the original painters did on the house and based on having to use oil paint which took longer to dry. Justin and Shuntay were great and worked very hard (while half their children had the flu) to get the job done! They also did not charge us extra for the additional time it took to complete the job, which we appreciated!

I wish I could write a positive review for Justin, but I cannot. Eventhough he seemed like a nice guy and he responded promptly when I contacted him to request a quote, after I hired him to do a painting job he did terrible quality work. I have spent the last 2 days cleaning up paint from my floors, scraping messed up paint and caulk from my bathroom tiles. He over painted the walls and there are inches of paint on my ceiling that I will have to pay someone else to repaint. He somehow managed to scratch and damage the inside of the toilet bowl! Guess he was cleaning tools in the toilet? I

We hired Justin with Small Tasks to repair our bed frame and to hang several heavy mirrors and some curtain rods. Justin was very easy to deal with, had great rates and did an excellent job. He arrived on time and completed our various projects with out any issues. We will definitely hire him again.
