The city of Santa Monica was going to replace a water heater located at our family owned apartment building and stated that we needed to have a plumber present to assess/fix any damages on our property line. Richard was not present at 9:00am as agreed upon. I contacted Richard at 10:00am stating that the city had left and we no longer required their assistance. He arrogantly claimed that he was on his way to the property and "we agreed that I would arrive between 9-10am", this was not correct. I kindly reminded him that we needed someone present at 9:00am and that unfortunately they dropped the

I would not ever use them again. They charged $500 (Cash or Check Only) up front before even looking at the problem. They applied the $500 for locating the problem and snaking the toilet with closet auger AND DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. Then they quoted $1,500.00 to remove the toilet and snake the drain WITH NO GUARANTEES. I refused the service and call another plumber. The cost to snake the drain and install the toilet including a new wax ring was only $213.00. I don't know if all the locations of Richards Rooter and Plumbing are like this, but THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE ONE AT 1725 Ocean Front Walk

Richard and his team completely came to my rescue. I needed my sink, garbage disposal and water filter connected after I had had a new counter installed. They showed up on a Saturday evening just a couple hours after I made the call to them, which was after the plumber I had scheduled had decided to not do the job. I was in a total pinch and Richard completely came through for me. They were fair, clean, fast, and truly lovely to have in my home. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs that you may have. The gas company came out and shut my gas off because they told me they found a gas leak. I called Richard Rooter and plumbing to do a gas pipe leak detection. Richard came out within 40 minutes and and found the gas leak. He was able to repair the gas leak within 2 hours. The gas company came out and turn my gas back on and now I have hot water. I would definitely recommend Richard Rooter and Plumbing to do gas pipe leak detection and for all of your plumbing needs.

I called informing Richard exactly what I needed to clear my particular drain and was told he had it and would be at my place in a couple of hours. He arrived as promised but did not have the machine I specifically asked for. He then attempted to clear the drain with what he did have and was unsuccessful. He told me he would come back the next day with the proper machine and do the work. He arrived as promised and asked me to sign his work order for $200.00 before he started the work. The work order stated that it was an "attempt" to clear the drain, no promises...no guarantee. I was skeptical
