We used Homestar a few years ago for a large interior painting project in our previous home and were thrilled with the quality of work. Which is why it seemed like a no brainer to use them again when we purchased a new home. The beginning of the process went fairly smoothly, the project started on time, and we were excited that we were finally going to like the paint in our home. What followed those first couple of days was a disaster. The quality of work was disappointing compared to the first time we used them. They painted ceilings semi gloss and trim flat. I had estimates from three painting companies. Two were finalists. I chose Homestar Painting because while both finalist companies were detailed in their bidding, Michael was very precise and forthright in answering our questions, and his pricing was competitive and fair. I've worked with enough contractors to know that set backs happen. It is not unusual. My painting was delayed by a week, but because I had landscapers coming at the end of the week when Homestar was to start painting, Al, the owner and lead painter, and another crew member came out on a Sunday afternoon to power wash the house

I posted my honest review related to my experience with Homestar. A couple days later I received this text message threatening legal action against me. To avoid further conflict, I removed my post, even though it felt unethical to me.
I was skeptical of all the 5 star reviews this company has and now I think I know why.
I would recommend proceeding with caution.

We are so happy with the project completed by Homestar Painting! They did a wonderful job on our kitchen cabinets, were very easy to communicate with, and the crew that came to paint was fantastic. They even finished the job sooner than anticipated. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for painting pros. Thanks again!

Our house's exterior looks spectacular! Michael kept us apprised of weather issues that affected the start date beginning a week before the scheduled start date.
Al, Alberto Jr and Clay arrived a bit before 8:00 am every day, took out the quiet materials like drop cloth, paint and paperwork. At 8 sharp Al, the crew chief, had the other painters set up the air compressor and ladders. They were meticulous in their work and were one of the best coordinated teams we have ever seen work on our home for anything. Al also gave us great pointers for preserving the paint job, like the angle for washing

I give Homestar an A++++ rating. I have built out over a million square feet of space in my work career and never had painters that did a better job than Al and Michael’s crew. There lines are precise, they are efficient and careful of your belongings. I was proud to have them in my home and I know you would too. It didn’t hurt that they are very price competitive.

We started the task of looking for a company to either stain or paint the brick exterior of our house over the summer. We received quotes and consultations from numerous companies but Homestar Painting stuck out - Michael with Homestar came out to our house and thoroughly explained his processes and what would work best for our house and the brick - more detailed than any of the other companies we looked into.

Michael, Al, and the rest of the team at Homestar did an outstanding job: i) removing the popcorn ceiling throughout the house, ii) painting the interior, iii) minor drywall work, and iv) painting the exterior. They were able to work within our tight timeline requirements, budget, and got the job done on time. Their attention to detail and honest feedback to our questions and concerns were much appreciated. I would 100% trust and hire these guys for future work down the road. A+ painters and highly recommended!

Looked around and got estimates from a handful of painters for a project to paint our entire main level (3 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen, dining room, living room) and am so happy we chose Homestar Painting LLC. They weren't the cheapest option, but they weren't far from it, and the quality is outstanding.
They were very helpful all the way through the process from breaking down the estimate for us, to recommending someone to help us pick colors, and throughout the painting project. They even painted a geometric pattern on one wall for us, which other painters were not as interested in doing for us

Michael and his crew of professionals do what most others just claim to do. They provided a comprehensive estimate and quote for the work requested (in this case a 3 color exterior repaint of a small home and detached garage), showed up on time, and did exactly what they said they were going to. Actually that does a bit of a disservice to them...they did an exceptional job, cut no corners and left no mess. It's beyond what I was expecting, frankly.
