Located in Lincoln, Vermont and designed by Selin & Selin Architecture, this home was built with the intention of zero net energy consumption, meaning the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site, or by renewable energy sources elsewhere.
Located in Lincoln, Vermont, this project was to build a home for a young and growing family. They wanted a contemporary farmhouse look that allowed for a home office, guest quarters, a large exterior porch and architectural elements that allow the indoor living space to expand and blend with the outdoor living space.
Located in Lincoln, Vermont and designed by Studio 3 Architecture, this was a renovation of an older farmhouse to update an old 'center hall colonial' to create improved living area, mudroom and kitchen. Our client wanted to update the kitchen, open up the kitchen to living room transition space and improve existing mudroom.

Smith and McClain were very easy to work with, really listened to what we were looking for, and designed a system that works. Our system is surpassing our expectations, and was a much better deal in the end than what we could have gotten elsewhere, thanks to their advice on financing options. They are nice people, know their stuff, and are easy to have around--though that wasn't for long as they are efficient and stay on the job til done.
Though launched later in the summer than expected due to a supply chain change which wasn't SM's fault--they worked to get a comparable replacement almost immediately

This is an A++ company to do business with - period.
On time, on schedule, and with reliable results. If you are looking to get solar, Smith & McClain is the way to go.
My wife and I were impressed with their attention to the details. To quote their electrician, "Hey, it doesn't cost any more to just do it right the first time!"
All our questions were answered in great detail. We really got an education about solar, and the tracker, and what to expect from it as far as power production.
Everything "just worked" from the word go.
Thanks for a great result.
