Founded on the premise that homeowners needed an alternative to the standard 'mow and blow' landscape operations that are common in the industry, Ron Levinson, president of Basic Landscapes, inc and a 38 year veteran of the nursery and landscape industry, began offering landscape design and consulting services in 1999 in the near western suburbs of Chicago.
Measurements, photos and notes collected during the initial consultation phase are translated into an accurate digital 3d scale model of your home. We'll apply basic landscape design principles such as function dictates form, emphasize the use of simple, flowing lines to create elegant 'bones', the hardscape elements that help define the space we're creating, such as entry walks, driveways, that new patio you were thinking of.
When it's time to spruce up your property, whether it's a simple planting renovation or a detailed high style outdoor room for entertaining, make Basic Landscape your first and last call. I called Basic Landscapes and Ron came to my house where we did a full walk through of everything that was needed to be done. I even gave him a printout of the work list along with the most recent plat survey of the property. He said he would go back and then email me an estimate.
And...
He completely disappeared, no email, no returned calls. I've called over 5 times and left messages. I have no idea what happened since no one picks up the company phone.
This company is a complete waste of time. Do not use!!

After a neighbors referral we had them put in a brick patio and retaining walls and could not be happier. Ron computer generated 3-D models of project beforehand so we were able to visualize work and final product did not disappoint. Quality work performed on time. Would definitely recommend and have other work in the planning. Basic also does our weekly maintenance now too.

Wow!!! The wife and I are thoroughly pleased with the wonderful job Basic Landscapes did for us. We met Ron at a home show. Even though he was highly booked he did his very very best to find time to do our Landscaping ASAP.
Here's the main thing I would like to convey to you the reader.... just last year we had a huge tree removed from our backyard. I had estimates from four other Landscaping businesses.
