When the serviceman arrived in the apartment he quickly saw the problem was a blown capacitor; however, he was unprepared to replace it. He didn't have the part in his bag. Then he claimed he had to go to his truck to get the part. When he came back, he didn't have the part in the truck, so then he disappeared to a hardware store for an hour to get the part... They charged me hourly and I paid for the serviceman's shopping time.

I own an apartment in a very high end building in Chelsea, and have used this company several times to service the HVAC. They seemed to be on the "reasonable" price point, but in the end, its been more expensive because they misdiagnosed the issue several times and I end up finding myself calling them again and again to service the unit. I do not recommend them, unless you are willing to keep paying and paying for them to keep showing up.

Great customer service. David, the specialist was punctual, efficient and fixed my Baxi unit quickly.
After two winters trying several other companies (that cost twice as much for a fix that did not last a week), I finally have heat and hot water.

This was the letter my lawyer sent to the company which pretty much sums up the way they do business. I will keep you posted to see if they follow thru with there written assessment and fix of my unit.

Disregard any negative reviews Lazar is an amazing company, scheduled a service request on 2/15 on 2/16 they arrived bright and early at 830am even though the window was for 9-11. They came ready with all the insurance documents and were able to diagnose the issue quick and efficiently. Tech's are knowledgeable and courteous. I'd definitely be using them for all my HVAC needs.

My tenant's AC stopped working in March/April. Lazar charged me $2000 for the repair which was not completed until sometime in May.
AC stopped working again in June. They said it was a clogged drain. Cleaned it out, "thoroughly checked the system" and charge me $244.
It broke down again in August. Same thing, clogged drain, cleaned it out. $224 charge. They refuse to guarantee their work. What if it clogs up again in a month? Yup, they will charge me again.
I will find someone else.

My air conditioning unit broke in the middle of this heat wave and on Sunday I called Lazar to make an appointment for a technician, and they promised he would be there to fix the unit on Monday (today). I called again this morning to confirm and again the rep at Lazar said they would be sending a guy out to my unit. I just called now because it's 5pm and no technician has shown up, and the representative now says there's no record of my repair request in their system. 20 mins service (cleaning the drain), charged me $300, they charged me $125 for an hour and put additional $75 for so-called additional technician, which they did not mention at all on the phone. Also, does it require two men to fix the clog problem? After I called them, they cancel the $75 additional technician charge. Now the bill is $125+$75(Travel Expense which he did not mention on the phone as well, guess they all take luxury Mercedes limo service). Worst experience ever)

This is by far the most unprofessional HVAC company in the world! After scheduling them a week ahead of time on the day the were scheduled to complete the work they call me and tell me the tech took a little longer so he can't make it, but I can pay overtime and get the job done. Then 4 weeks later they still don't complete the job and make up 1,000 excuses on why they didn't make it. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Go somewhere else if you want a real company that stands by their word.

I told them that my compressor was broke, they said well we need to charge you 190.00 to come look at it ourselves. They did and told me the compressor was broke and charged me 190, then nearly 2000 more to fix it. After fixing it they then charged my card another 190 after I was out of country in error. The ability to fix was great but the poor customer service and lack of apology when they overcharged me left me reeling at them. I do not get businesses today. I recommend them for doing the job right but I do not recommend them if you are looking to be treated nice like most people who spend nearly

I called Lazar Mechanical to come fix my HVAC air conditioner unit that was leaking. They came, spent less than 10 minutes at my apt and told me they "cleared out a clogged drain" that was causing the leak and charged me over $200. Two days later it was leaking again. I called back to see if they would come back and they told me they would need to take the unit to be serviced which would cost over $300 and refused to put the $200 towards the service fee, even though it was not fixed at all.
