What should I consider when replacing my heating unit? A: A heat pump with a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 14 or greater and an HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) of at least 7.8 will help lower the heating and cooling portion of your electric bill. Went with Zanella for my new build project. He was providing the plumbing as well as the HVAC. Nice guy who was good with communications until he gave up I suppose. Hot water system is not sufficient and did not have the knowledge nor persistence to make it right. Other issues as well that I won't go into here, just find a plumber/HVAC contractor who knows his trade and is honest.

I called this company to clean my furnace. They charged me over $1000 to get my furnace cleaned. They claimed that it was especially dirty and that is why. When I reviewed the itemized costs, they broke down the costs as being ~$750 dollars in labor. That $750 is further broken down into two men working 4 hours each, from 10 am- 2 pm. In addition, I paid for a "smoke test" $150, which they had to come and do a the next day. First of all, they arrived well after 10 am the first day, the second guy arrived close to 11 am. They left ~15 minutes before 2 pm, so their costs for labor are off
