Unlike other general contractor firms, KNG Construction produces all scopes of interior finishing and millwork in-house. We believe that in order to provide quality craftsmanship and quality control, on time and within budget, oversight of the team and product is a must. We are uniquely positioned to produce and oversee any type of architectural millwork or furniture request.
The oversized living room called for numerous custom furniture pieces, which we crafted in our own in-house workshop for the space. We also finished out the built-in bench seating for the windows overlooking Central Park, and we creatively converted an unsightly gas riser into an attractive lighting fixture.
To preserve the apartment's industrial feel, this project called for an open-concept floor plan with a high-polish concrete floor. We fabricated the architectural woodworking throughout the living area in our own workshop, as well as the oak-paneled dividing wall. The open kitchen called for abundant built-in cabinetry and a bi-level island with a marble top, all of which were fabricated, cut and installed by our craftsmen.
One of this project's unique features was the installation of pre-finished whitewashed oak floors with radiant heat, which created a sleek, sophisticated look throughout the apartment while adding luxury and comfort. A plaster reveal beads style was applied throughout the apartment, creating a narrow strip between the wall and the floor panels to create clean lines and a stylish, luxurious finish.
