By 1982, I was on my own and I expanded the business to include several phases of home improvement. I have been a member of the Virginia Beach Jaycees for 11 years, and worked on a regional and national level. I am a Life Member and they were kind enough to recognize me with several awards. This lady was a total b-word.
Me: Is this Sheila's carpet cleaning?
Her: Why are you calling?
Me: I want Sheila's carpet cleaning.
Her: What's the purpose of your call?
Me: I'm trying to reach Sheila's carpet cleaning and this is the number on the internet.
Her: What do you need?
This went on for a full minute. She could not process what I was saying and got pretty irate about it. Finally:
Her: We don't do that anymore.
Me: You could have saved us both some frustration if you opened with that. *Click*
Sheila, take your number down!
