Black & Tan Construction LLC was established in 2011 by owner operator Ben Waters. Black & Tan is located in Perkinsville, Vermont and specializes in small and medium-sized excavation projects. His past experience managing large commercial site work projects has given him the ability to plan, layout and complete small projects with large-project skill and efficiency.
Black & Tan Construction LLC offers customers an experienced, reasonably-priced, and trustworthy alternative to larger and more expensive excavating companies. Working and communicating directly with the owner of the company assures that your vision for a project is thoroughly understood, and that we will work tirelessly to make sure that your expectations are met, from beginning to completion, and beyond.
We can take care of the excavation work to prepare for your new foundation, trench for utilities, and install your septic system. Black & Tan will do the site work in a neat and orderly fashion, while coordinating and scheduling with your other contractors, in order to ensure that your entire project goes smoothly.
Problems with your septic system? From simple pipe replacement and repairs on older systems, to installing brand new tanks and new septic systems, we are able help with all of your septic construction needs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Septic systems and repairs can be very costly, and prices can vary greatly from contractor to contractor.
We can divert water away from existing buildings, your yard or pastures, or future building sites using a combination of swales, french drains, culverts, and catch basins in order to keep water flowing where it belongs for years to come. Wet or damp basement? We can install a foundation drain and foundation water proofing in order to dry out your basement or crawl space.

If you're not working with Ben and his company, Black and Tan Construction, on your project in the greater Ludlow area, you are making a mistake. I decided to hire Ben based on the detail and quality of his initial proposal and communications and was pleasantly surprised when his numbers were substantially better than some of the other established operators.
I continued to be impressed throughout the site work process, both with his attention to communications, his keen eye for siting considerations given his background in surveying and the robust suite of equipment he had available to tackle
