Geri Elfman, designer/builder, a native of Chicago, her earliest memories was time spent in the lush greenery of the greenhouse.
After a professional ballet career and motherhood, it felt natural to come back to the garden. Choreographing all the elements involved in a garden is a dynamic process filled with movement, substance and peacefulness. Formal study includes an associate's degree in horticulture and design from Pierce College and further classes at UCLA with Bob Perry.
With 17 years of hands-on experience, she is also a licensed contractor and member of APLD. We have been incorporating many vegetable gardens in our gardens. Inventive walls of edible vines, espaliered fruit trees and raised beds. Herbs can be used as border and edging plants.

This allows me to get a feeling of the space and its intended use. I want to gather as much information as possible about your wishes (including the unspoken ones) Practical concerns, style of structures and plant material. Most of all what your ultimate desires are. My intention is to learn everything about the site and organize it so that it communicates the structures and the natural surroundings with the senses.
We had Geri work her magic and now our front and back yard is the best garden in the neighborhood. Geri and Hawkeye Designs transformed our small backyard into an urban paradise complete with water features and an imaginative mix of hardscape and plants. Since Geri took hold of our garden she returns for seasonal pruning, planting and makes additions or changes as needed.
