This photo shows an asphalt shingle roof that has discoloration due to algae. Algae growth on roofs is a common problem throughout the entire world and is more prevalent in areas of high humidity. The exact name of the algae is Gloeocapse magna, which causes the dark staining which you can see in the first photograph.

Dave Benson and the crew from Aspen Roofing just completed a full roof replacement at our home in Marblehead, MA and we could not be more impressed! The professionalism started from day one and extended through the final day. Dave was responsive at every turn and so courteous and thoughtful. The Aspen work crew was outstanding in every manner including being polite, talented, and so clean!

The owner, Dave Benson, got back to me personally. The roof was fixed within the week. They didn't have matching roof materials, so they did their best. I actually found some leftover roofing material which was from the original installation of my roof and they came back and installed that. Now that's service!

Awful experience! It took over a week for them to get back to me after my initial call about a leak in my roof. Then they cancelled the appointment I made to get an estimate because of another job. After about 3 weeks, someone finally came out and gave me an estimate, and said they’d be out the following week to repair it and never came. Then when I called because my dayghter’s bedroom ceiling was caving in due to the leak, they didn’t get back to me until the following day AND acted like they were doing me a huge favor by squeezing me in that day! And this after 3-4 weeks of chasing them

My husband initially emailed them in October to get us on the schedule for gutter cleaning. The owner waited so long it now may be too late for us to find another company in December to clean our gutters. He even gave us a few dates but never confirmed and then ultimately didn't show up. We even scheduled with another place but cancelled because the owner gave us a date. This lack of communication is disrespectful and unprofessional. Find a company that actually gets back to you!
