Gerard Plumbing & Heating
We install Apco Whole-House Air Purifiers that use safe UV light to disinfect and kill viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms in your HVAC system! Erik explained the problem in simple terms while educating me on how it should work and what would fix the problem.

He simply laid out what needed to be done and any options that would be ideal to do while it made sense hvaing the components apart that would improve the pressure and/or prevent future issues. As we're having an extensive bathroom remodel. His explanation of layout as well as suggestions regarding venting and toilet selection were most helpful. He suggested questions to ask our contractor we would not have thought to ask. We're most appreciative.

Although there are multiple systems that produce heat for a property, they all share the same simple principle; convert energy into heat. Central heating systems accomplish this by burning natural gas in a combustion chamber and then blowing the heated air through duct work throughout the house.
At Gerard Plumbing and Heating, we recommend that you schedule a heating maintenance service call once per year. Traditionally you would do this in the Fall before the exterior temperatures are too cold. Annual heating system maintenance is important for all radiant and central heating systems.
Baseboard hydronic systems are sometimes referred to as hot water baseboards. The baseboard units have a hot water line surrounded by metal fins, which radiate heat into a room. Hydro-air heating requires duct work and an air handler. The air handler has a heat exchanger inside of it that has hot water pumped to it.
Baseboard heaters run off of electricity, and do not request duct work. They come in varying lengths in order to generate enough heat for different sized rooms. They are often installed along the lower part of a wall. It is important to not obstruct a baseboard heating unit for fire safety. There are metal conductors within the baseboard heater that become hot as electricity passes through it.

I came home after four days in the hospital today to find my downstairs soaking wet and water dripping from the ceiling. A quick search for the source didn't turn up anything, so I called Gerard Plumbing and Heating for an emergency plumber. A guy named Eric called me back and got my information. He showed up quickly and immediately determined… that it was the water line to the refrigerators ice maker. He quickly shut down the line, solving the problem. It turns out that Eric is the owner and he said that he wasn't charging me for the call out. I'm going to have his guys come back out next
