We recently moved into our new home and we asked our realtor for a recommendation for a landscaper. He recommended Poteat Landscape Design. He told us they were a stand-up business and charged a fair price. Since we had an amazing experience with our realtor we trusted his suggestion. I called Mark Poteat and he came over right away, I walked him around the backyard and showed him what I would like to see done as well as the front yard and the extended land outside our fenced portion. We worked with Mark to landscape our entire front yard. He was consistently late to meetings and repeatedly did not show up when he had scheduled times to do work without giving us notice or an explanation. He said he would replace any plants that died within a year of planting and then never returned our calls when we called to schedule this replacement as several plants had indeed died. He is unprofessional and disorganized. When talking through our plans he didn't know a lot of common trees/plants from this area and did not know the full size information of how big they would be expected to

Mark first did work for us in 2014 when we were doing a major landscape job and his guys come out 3-4 times a year to keep our yard looking great. His team works hard despite the weather and always goes the extra mile. Unless Mark really screws up, we'll continue to be loyal customers!

After all those emails and phone calls, Mark did finally follow up. He scheduled for his crew to come out and, on the appointed day and time, they did. They then spent the whole day working on what we all hope is a new drainage solution. They also blew the leaves off our entire yard--something they've always done which is a nice gesture.

I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Mr Poteat said he planted 100 bulb in my yard, he collected the full payment In the spring I realized he did not plant a single bulb. I tried to call him, e-mail him but I have never ever heard from him. I reported him to Better Business Bureau and he refused to work out a solution. Worst landscaping experience ever...

Unprofessional, disrespectful. Two postponements and then a no show / no call.
We had a meeting and arranged a spring clean up and some rock work. Received the estimate delivered several days after he promised it, but ok...Then the games began. Never saw him. Called and called him.
We suspect he overbooks and we were bumped for a bigger job. After the 2 postponements and receiving a third date for the work, he did not show up and did not call to say he's not showing up. Who needs that. F-minus and get lost, pal.
