Grass Roots Landscaping, with over 15 years experience in the landscaping field, is a family owned and operated full service company located in Apex, North Carolina. The Grass Roots Landscaping difference is in our progressive and innovative approach to lawn and landscape care. Many lawns have compacted soil, which restricts water and air movement through the soil. Annual core aeration removes plugs to break through compacted soil to prevent thatch layers from growing and choking out the lawn.
Here is a back patio we did for a cusomer last summer. We added a stone patio, seating wall, fire pit and carved out a nice place for their hot tub to go. Trying to keep your family and friends warm on those cool spring and fall nights, we have just the thing! We built a nice retaining wall that doubles as a planter along a driveway to help not only with athetics but also erosion control.
We know plants and we know the challenging Triangle climate so you can be sure the plants we install in your landscape will thrive. We have included some of our favorite plants here for your review. Brandywine Red Maple has emerald green leaves in summer and persistent fall color that begins bright red and gradually turns brilliant purple red.
Annual plants are those whose life cycle lasts for only one year. Their life cycle begins with the germination of the seed. The plant then blooms, producing the next generation of seed, after which the parent plant dies. Removing the blooms prior to them going to seed will prolong the life of the plant.

Glenn and his team completed a wood deck and concrete sidewalk removal, and installed a full paver patio and sidewalk, and permanent firepit. Glenn was responsive, flexible, on time, open about costs, and friendly! We thoroughly enjoyed working with him and would recommend him highly to anyone seeking masonry work. Glenn and his team are true masters of their craft.

Grassroots Landscaping planted two trees for us. I hired Glenn because he is very knowledgeable about trees, plants etc. He knows when the best times to plant, what is the best location & how to improve the overall landscape of your yard. His team was very good, planting the trees properly so that they would do well. Glenn follows up several times checking on the trees & provides advice on caring for the trees. I would hire them again w/out hesitation.

We have used Glenn and his crew for several landscaping projects over the past year,. Glenn resolved a drainage/water flow issue that a different landscaper failed to fix. He came up with a lot of practical ideas that addressed different issues on the property, but always listened to and provided input on our ideas or concerns. Plant selection and layout was just what we wanted. He was easy to reach, always responsive, and gave us realistic timelines for when the work would be completed. The finished product looks fantastic!

Glenn and his team have completed multiple projects at our house in 2020 including a Fire Pit area with pavers for seating with a walkway leading to patio and replacing concrete walk way at front door and along driveway with pavers. Amazing workmanship. Always on time. We gave his team our vision and they created the design.The outcome was beyond what we could have imagined.
