At Greater Houston Flooring we specialize in custom hardwood flooring. Custom hardwood flooring come in both solid, and engineered-unfinished plank. You will have your flooring raw, and unfinished. Once installed your flooring it is finished on site to any specification. The customer has full control of species of wood, colors, specialty treatments, and multiple finish options.
The hardwood flooring industry has gone through many changes through the years. One big transition was the introduction of pre-finished flooring. Before these products were being manufactured, hardwood flooring was always installed as raw unfinished planks that were then stained and finished on site.
One of the best qualities of a custom hardwood floor, and some prefinished hardwood floors is the ability to be refinished. With a wood floor refinishing project you will select the desired color, and finish to be used. This allows the customer to see the colors in their home. Because Your homes paint color, and lighting play a large factor in the appearance of the flooring color so it's best to make this decision in the home.
Laminate and vinyl flooring are two flooring options that are very cost effective, and durable. Vinyl flooring is made from plastics, while Laminate flooring is typically constructed with a compressed wood core. Both products offer superior scratch resistance when compared to solid, or pre-finished engineered hardwood flooring.

I needed to have my hardwood floors refinished so I called Adam Zak with Greater Houston Flooring. He was quick to respond and knowledgeable on what was needed. We set a date for the work to be done and he kept in touch throughout the process.
His workers arrived on time on that day and were courteous and professional. They explained what the steps were for removing the old finish and appling the new finish. He even showed me their new dust removal system that eliminates most of the dust during the sanding process. It was a high tech solution that showed they were interested in keeping my house

I would highly recommend Greater Houston Flooring. The owner, Adam, is both responsive and knowledgeable. He and his crew (who are very experienced) refinished our wood floors. They also helped us work with insurance to replace some damaged flooring, documenting everything and patiently helping us work with our adjuster. Also, they even did a small subfloor repair for us free of charge . Adam helped us source replacement wood that was difficult to locate and accommodated our schedule to complete the project to our satisfaction. He also followed up at project completion and inspected everything

Adam and his crew have done a wonderful job on our floors. We made the mistake of not having our floors refinished before we moved in, so coordinating the project was bit daunting, but this team made it easy. Adam gave us great advice and helped us split the project up to accommodate our schedules. We got quotes from multiple contractors and flooring businesses in town, and Greater Houston Flooring was easily one of the more competitive bids.
