Prospect Hardwood Flooring specializes in the installation of traditional and custom hardwood flooring and stairs. We have installed hardwoods over concrete and plywood. We have worked with all types of hardwood both domestic and exotic. This includes wide or narrow planks, beveled or square edge, bamboo, cork and parquet, smooth, hand scraped to wire brushed, custom fabrication on stair treads, risers, nosing and reducers.

Area rugs are recommended in front of kitchen sinks, at all pivot points and within high-traffic areas. Do not use rugs with solid rubber or vinyl backings. The rugs must be made of a breathable material to prevent moisture entrapment. Use interior and exterior doormats at all entrances to collect dirt and moisture and prevent it from being tracked onto the floor.

Prospect Hardwood provided me with a poor product and rude and condescending customer service.
In March 2021 we had some of our wood floors refinished. Jodi coordinated the project for us and she was a delight to work with. The maple stairs were stained and finished with an oil-based polyurethane. Within 7 months, however, the stairs and landing were already showing wear in certain spots that our feet often find. Mike, the owner, came out to look at the issue, at my request, but was rude and unhelpful. He couldn't identify what the problem was but insisted that a re-screening would fix it. Mike

TL;DR: Regardless of what the response to this review says, this is not a good company to do business with. A perfect example of a situation where a lower price is quickly outweighed by the headaches of a mediocre job that needs to be fixed over and over to get to an acceptable level. If you’re going to hire them anyway, always talk to Mike directly. The foreman has little to no interest in the quality of work and does not communicate with Mike in the way he portrays. 5 years ago, I had Prospect Hardwood flooring remove my 1st floor carpet AND ceramic tile and replace with hardwood floor. Best decision I ever made. Now I needed to have my 2nd floor carpet removed and replaced with hardwood floor. I immediately went to Prospect Hardwood Flooring.

Absolutely a great bunch of people...from front office folks, to the workers who are first rate professionals. I had them refinish my existing hardwood back in 2018 and their work was outstanding. Then a few days ago had them replace most of my carpet with hardwood to match the existing and they didn't disappoint. Their pricing will beat any other offer, especially for the amount of work and detail they put in to their work.

The team at Prospect Hardwood Flooring is wonderful. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. They kept us informed with every step of the process. We recently purchased a home that needed some TLC to the hardwood floors. Absolutely a pleasure to deal with. Customer service and organization is unmatched!!! Mike was right on-time for the estimate and the price was what we expected; no up-charges or add-ons. Delivery of the flooring prior to installation was on-time just like PHF said it would be. The installation crew was on-time, very skilled and professional. Mike met them here to make sure everything was fine. Mike followed up the next morning to make sure we were satisfied (which we were). I really wanted to like this place. Mike was friendly, gave me a reasonable estimate, so I decided to go with them for installing wood floors in the basement and stairs of my house. The first hiccup came when Jodi asked me about colors. To summarize, they had the wrong color down (Gunstock) when I wanted it to match my existing floors (butterscotch). Note that Gunstock is darker than butterscotch. Anyway, installers show up with butterscotch wood for both the stairs and basement, except the two woods are a noticeably different color. Turns out, the "butterscotch" shade of engineered wood

I highly recommend Prospect Hardwood Flooring. They are extremely responsive throughout the entire process. The owner replied immediately to my request for an estimate and was able to schedule an apt promptly to take a look at the job. He was able to find a very reasonable match to existing flooring and scheduled an install within a week. The crew arrived promptly, covered furniture as they needed to demo the existing tile and did a great job installing next to the existing hardwoods. Will definitely use them again.

I needed some hardwood floors refinished in a rental property due to tenant damage. I was preparing the property for sale and needed it done quickly. I called Prospect on a Tuesday, the Owner came out on Thursday and provided a quote on the spot. By Friday they were scheduled for Monday and the floors were refinished by Wednesday. Good high quality work done quickly at a fair price! As a bonus they were extremely efficient in communication, every day I received a call from their scheduler advising when the crew would be there the next day to apply the next cost of finish. Fantastic company! Best advice, knew the products, and stood by their work. We wanted a water based finish to avoid the amber coloring of oil based polyurethane. Mike knew everything about the products and recommended Bona. Applying water based finish is very different than oil based so it was awesome to find a company that had experience with that product.
He gave advice on how to move my piano without messing up the finish. They even corrected a mistake that took place when their equipment tripped the breaker and my freezer melted water onto the floor and ruined the finish. They came out and
