Floorcrafters has a superior rating with the Better Business Bureau and is a member in good standing of the National Wood Flooring Association. We were founded by New Orleans native Ed Young in 1974. We opened doors to our first building at 4036 Canal Street, at the intersection of Carrollton and Canal.
We offer the best wood options for installation, including sustainably-grown and environmentally-friendly choices. There's no way around it: sanding floors is a dusty job. We are the only company in the Greater New Orleans area that offers Dust-Controlled Sanding to keep your home or business clean!.
After 45 years of working with customers, we have some advice on keeping wood floors healthy and beautiful. Here's our top tips. For weekly cleaning, use a damp (not wet) mop. Spray lightly with an all-purpose cleaner directly onto the floor. If you dissolve cleanser in a bucket of hot water to mop with, wring it out very well to just slightly damp.

We have a 1600sqft house, wanted to get around 1400sqft with oak floors. New to the area and got a quote from floor crafters for around 14,000-15,000 dollars.
First sign of trouble was when the workers left because they thought the flooring wouldn't show up to the house that day. I got a call that a FedEx 18-wheeler was looking to deliver the floorboards with no one around to receive them. They worked fairly diligently but as can be seen by the pictures the quality was terrible. Before they finished I asked Ed if they were going to fix the chips and he said yes. What he did not say is that they

Me Ed is extremely wiling to work with his clients to sort any issues you may have with real wood flooring, You will have issues wood real wood flooring always does but the look and feel of real wood flooring can not be matched by any synthetic product and worth the extra effort. If you are willing to work with it Ed is the man to have working with you.

I recommend Ed and his guys highly. We had some termite damaged floor boards, windows and walls. Ed's guys did a phenomenal job with all of the repairs. Throughout the process they were all professional, courteous and neat. The workmanship on the floors and the windows is perfect. When I talked with the guy who was replacing rotted pieces on my 100 year old window why he did this type of work, he said that he "just loved working with wood" and it shows.
Throughout our repairs we found more damage that we had not discovered previously. Ed and his workers came back and finished those repairs in
