I can confirm what John J's review said as I am his roommate. These guys were 43 days late and ghosted us. We even had to send someone to their shop while we were in Texas to make sure they had not stolen our goods. Every step of the way they made the moving process difficult. They showed up so late on the day of pickup I had to cancel a nonrefundable flight. They then charged $80 to put a drop cloth and a cardboard box over our TVs so they didn't break, this was an extra charge because we didn't have the boxes the tv's originally came in as if that's a common item to hold

We hired marathon logistics they used speedway to move our stuff in CA on 8/28/2021 it's been almost 7 weeks now we have not spoken to speedway not once they do not answer we finally got through them with text messages. So unprofessional. When we go to marathon company and let them know we can not get a hold of speedway and we need to know when they will be here for delivery they tell us they speak to speedway and speedway tells them they talk to us daily! Beware!! 0 stars!! We moved across the US in Aug/2021.The first scam is when they use 2 trucks. They load one up, then drive it away. They will tell you that the first one is 3000 sq ft when it only measure 2100 sq ft (make sure to measure the exact square footage of the trucks). The foreman tried to intimidate us by saying he will throw all the furniture on the lawn if I dont pay and told me it was a "special truck". Good thing I know how to measure, haha. They smoked pot in our yard during the move and they were so slow. They loaded items without padding or plastic wrap. Everyone spoke some type

You know the feeling that you've been taken advantage of by a company who knows you have absolutely no recourse and will just have to endure whatever they choose to put you through? That's these guys.
They were dishonest about prices, about their legally-mandated responsibilities, and about the timeline for my move. They were nonresponsive when I tried to contact them.
My stuff ended up arriving over a month after I was told it would when they were trying to get me to use their service. And it was over $800 more expensive than I was told it would be.

This company and the broker that used them for our move, Independence Van Lines, is responsible for the most stressful moving experience of my life. We went several months of having no furniture with no updates from the moving company.
At one point we were told our stuff would be arriving on the coming Saturday, so we cancelled all our plans to be home all day for the movers. We heard nothing from the company and they didn't answer their phones and never heard back from them again for weeks.

Do not use. Was woken up by one of their drivers trying to make its way around a cul de sac that it could not navigate. The driver ran over two properties lawns tearing it up, hitting and damaging a tree, and hitting a mailbox. Confronted driver and made aware that had called police to take a report he immediately started backing out of the street quickly to avoid any further contact. Have attempted to call the business multiple times to rectify so much so that they picked up and immediately hung up after I stated I was calling in a complaint. They have now blocked my phone number. DO NOT USE AND

One star only because zero isn't an option. Arrived and instantly demanded more money. Specified December 1 as our delivery date, zero contact for weeks until the week of our delivery mid January. Yes, 6 weeks late with no contact.
5 boxes of our most expensive items including $5000 in tools somehow "couldn't be located" and I was reminded that they'll be happy to reimburse at 60 cents a pound. I'm sure that $75 will go far towards replacing the missing items...

If you hire a moving broker who sends Speedway to handle your move, ABORT ABORT ABORT. One, you probably hired a sleazy broker. Two, you will be better off canceling everything on the spot and paying out the nose for a legitimate moving company rather than suffering through Speedway.
Speedway picked up our property in Los Angeles, CA on November 1. It's now January 13 and they haven't delivered about 1/3rd of our property and refuse to tell us when it might arrive. The property that DID arrive was significantly damaged -- almost everything that we paid them to pack was destroyed.

I Hired Independence Van Lines for a move from Los Angeles, CA to Dallas, TX on November 23rd 2020, they promised a 6 day turn around from pickup (Dec 6th 2020) to delivery (Dec 12th 2020).
On Dec 6th, 2020 Independence Van Lines did not show up but Speedway Moving arrived in an unmarked truck and began loading my items. They charged me an additional long haul fee of $240 and wanted cash only. Speedway Moving or Speedway Movers only communicates via test once every 7 days or when I reach out to the broker Independence Van Lines and they reach out on my behalf.

My experience is like all the others. The same language was used. They charged me a long haul price that the mover measured with his feet. No tape measure. No contract sent to my email or contact. Delivery was three hours late. Bottom line this company is a sham. I lived in LA for 30 years. I know the type of people that own these types of companies. Hate to profile, but it is what it is. I also used the broker independence Vanlines. Another con company, they are brokers. Don't use either company. I filed a report with FMCSA. File there, sooner or later they will be fined. We understand that we were duped by an Online Broker named Independence Van Lines--they're the ones that took a hefty e-check payment from us over the phone after telling us our stuff would be moved from Oakland CA to Tulsa OK in four days; that the movers would pack our TVs and our stuff would be the only stuff on the truck and it would go straight to our new home and it would arrive by 12/1.

If I could give them -10 stars I would worst experience of my life! This carrier is a complete FRAUD! My furniture was picked up over a month ago and still has not been delivered. Company is very unprofessional from the drivers to the customer service people. I could never get them to answer the phone. I could never get updates about where my furniture was . Finally they told me my furniture was on the way and my balance due at drop off was triple what we agreed upon. The numbers were changed on the contract after the fact. Worst move in my life, they forgot to pack stuff in closest and its almost 3 weeks and we are still waiting on our delivery. I can never get a good answer from this company and I am getting ready to contact Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) this is really getting out of hand... and if you read reviews they only respond to the positive ones.

I must say things started out very well. Karen was very responsive in helping me get our household items ready. They arrived as stated for pick up - and we were very pleased with the pack-up - they really wrapped and packed our things quite well! Then they arrived to drop off our items as stated, and unwrapped and placed our items well. The problem occurred when the local mover slammed down a wardrobe box that actually contained breakable items as opposed to clothes - consequently we lost several vases, dishes, pictures, etc. In addition, one large box was missing - replaced by someone else

I worked with Allied Movers, a broker, for my out of state move and was notified the day before the move that Speedway would be handling it. After reading the reviews on Yelp, it was too late for me to cancel them. I emailed the broker at Allied and shocker, no response. And, yes, it was an awful experience. Terrible communication and they jack you on cost on every step. As soon as they got to my place, they said the estimate was too low and I needed more space on the truck. An additional $950. Speedway Movers is the Donald Trump of movers - they are liars, they are criminals, they are amoral, and they are all around vile people. Speedway picked up my things from my home on 8/25/20 and I have not heard from them since (it is now mid-October). Speedway has not answered a single one of my phone calls, text messages, or emails. They have effectively stolen my possessions despite on time payment in the formats requested. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When they came to pick up our items, the truck they brought was too small so I had to pay for a second truck. They took both trucks back to their warehouse to store until another company came to pick up our stuff and deliver it to us out of state. They only delivered 1 truck. They forgot about our second truck. It has now been 7 weeks since our first load was delivered and they will not respond to my inquiries. They have no customer service here and has been a horrible experience. DO NOT USE THEM!

I was moving out of state and requested a quote to pick up from two locations; the home I was living in and a storage unit. I was told that two trucks would be sent (one to each location), picked up simultaneously and then delivered the next day (Saturday and Sunday). They say our stuff is in storage as we are already in MS they won’t provide proof. They never take our calls, but are more than happy to take our payments. I found Speedway Movers a company recommended by a friend. The phone staff of Speedway Movers was courteous, polite and answered all my questions. The moving team, Boris and Andres, were everything you could hope for - friendly, fast, competent and accommodating. Before even touching one box they laid out a game plan to ensure we were all on the same page. They were consummate pros. I had an estimated time in my head and they beat it by 3/4 of an hour! Bravo! This is by far the most amazing team of professional movers I have ever met. Gerson, Felix and Angel were the fastest, easiest and most amazing movers ever. I will never use another moving company again. I moved with my roommate (a two bedroom apartment) to another 2 bedroom and they made it so easy and seamless. BEST SERVICE EVER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
