This spacious 2800+ square foot 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home is perfect for entertaining while still providing areas for a more intimate feel. Designed in house by Cliff Joyner Construction, the open floor plan takes advantage of the wooded views and mountain feel. Special details include a soaring cathedral ceiling in the living room with a large stone fireplace and cedar beams.
This custom home was built in Old Colorado City. The main design challenge was a severely sloping lot, limited area on the lot to build, and great views to the west and North. Some of our goals were great out door living spaces and an open floor plan. We wanted a rustic feel and a substantially maintenance free exterior.
Cliff Joyner Construction custom designed this home for a beautiful but challenging lot. The soils were expansive and with low bearing capability. The solution we devised was a 10' over dig where we replace the soil under the foundation. The slope was so severe that it required a 14' tall retaining wall in the rear and we used the house as a retaining wall creating an additional 14' retaining wall with the foundation!
