Ocean Quest Pools was established in 1984 to fill a need for a reliable pool construction company in Belton, Waco, Temple, and the surrounding areas. Since then, Ocean Quest Pools has been providing area homeowners with award-winning pool design and construction, trustworthy pool and spa service, top quality pool and spa chemicals, accessories and so much more.

In 1984, the California headquarters abruptly went out of business, leaving many Austin-area homeowners with unfinished pools. Lew Akins immediately founded Ocean Quest Pools in Austin and finished every one of those unfinished Neptune pools. Over the next fifteen years, the Ocean Quest team built and perfected the vanishing-edge concept and the "natural pool" concept, and many other innovative designs.

If you are looking for an ‘all hat no cattle’ business then you are in the right place.
Ocean Quest has built our pool a while ago. It has been a hair pulling experience, work not completed in time (not b/c of weather), poor quality of work in certain areas (we spent thousands to have that fixed), and promises over promises not kept.
The last straw was that our UV sanitation was installed incorrectly and important parts were missing. We tried contacting them numerous times and even the BBB could not get a response from them. We now have a $2000 unusable system.
The new owner might tell you

The most horrible customer service I've ever encountered. When OQ built our pool 4 years ago, there was a leak in our rock slide from the very beginning. We've tried off and on for 4 years to have it repaired, to no avail. When I called Ronnie (the new owner) the other day to ask about getting it repaired, he told me that since he wasn't there when it was built, he would have to charge me for the repairs and that he disagreed with me that it leaked from the beginning. He yelled at me over the phone, interrupted me, and didn't listen to me. Every time I mentioned this leak being there from the beginning

Ocean Quest constructed our pool years ago and we have had them service the pool routinely since then including recent work to repair the damage caused by the record frigid freeze which occurred here in Texas in February. The staff (especially Jasmine in service) was diligent in obtaining the necessary hard to get parts and scheduling the service to restore the pool equipment to as-new condition. I'm very happy with the tech who performed the repair work as well.

Worst experience with a company that I’ve ever dealt with. Been waiting almost 2 years to get warranty work finished on my pool since I first reported the issue to them. My pool was constructed with the worst and cheapest materials used and has cracked and leaked. Paid 60k cash for something I haven’t been able to use. New owner is never around won’t answer his messages and won’t call. New owner will answer reviews about issues but won’t contact a customer. Pool is currently in shambles and unusable and no other company will even touch it. If you want to throw your money away and have

When I built my pool with ocean quest it was under different management, it has since been taken over by Phil and the experiences have been night and day. The original owner let slide some serious errors that required repair after the pool was built. Even though Phil had nothing to do with the errors that occurred under the previous owner, and had no obligation under the existing warranty to fix it, he did it because he felt it was the right thing to do. Phil runs the business with integrity. I have since recommended the company to other colleagues because I feel like they will get a quality product

Ocean Quest Pools always take care of their customers. Having a pool is a very nice toy and it is just that a toy. Things sometimes go wrong and that’s understandable. They are always ready to take care of any situation. They do it on time and at a fair price, the techs call before they leave the shop to let you know they are on their way. I love my ocean quest pool and will always recommend them to anyone looking for a pool.

I was in dire need of cobalt blue pool tile to make a mosaic bird bath for my mother's 80th birthday. While this is not a "pool" project, Lew and Mike were fantastic, offering their time to select the perfect textured and iridescent tiles. Going into this pool project, we knew what we wanted the yard & pool to look like. The Ocean Quest folks had the right knowledge & software to get us real,-REAL- close to what we wanted at a reasonable price. Our yard, being a difficult yard to trench and dig was completed with a minimum amount hassle, & wait time, in conjunction with the weather conditions, but was sucessfully finished, and the pool and yard is 99.8% of what we were after. Happy with the crew& contractors brought in, everyone was very respectable & all did great work. Very high quality work at a resonable price. BUT the Hayward
