Smee + Busby Architects was established with two people in 2005. Today, partners Gregor R. Smee, AIA, and J. Scott Busby, AIA lead a staff of talented people coming from a variety of design and technical backgrounds. Over the course of years, our practice has worked on many different project types.
Our capabilities run the full gamut of design, from conceptual to construction. We firmly believe that each design deserves a unique approach, thoughtfully customized to the needs of the people we serve. Gregor R. Smee has over 25 years of professional experience in architecture. He has held licenses in 40 states across the United States.
Born, raised and educated in California, he has lived in East Tennessee since 1993 with his wife and daughters. Gregor's expertise includes commercial, educational, religious and housing project experience. In 2004 he established Smee Architecture Inc. on historic Market Square in downtown Knoxville.
