The staff and installers were knowledgeable and personable, they have tons of floor samples in their store, and, most importantly, our new wood floor is absolutely gorgeous. Our job was large and I dreaded going through the process, but the Wood Guys were the perfect choice for us.
They were generous with their floor sample loans, they were quick with their initial estimate and equally quick to amend the quotes when we changed our minds several times about our flooring choice. I also appreciated their quality check of the materials before installation. They discovered a color problem with stair noses sent by the distributor, so they had new ones made by a local manufacturer.

David and I are third generation hardwood flooring contractors. We grew up and learned the hardwood flooring trade from our family near Springfield, MO. In 1993, we started our own labor company, Bird Hardwood Floors. Over the years we have seen the introduction of all types of hardwood and "look-alike" flooring.
Wood Guys believes that anyone can install a hardwood floor. We offer "How To" videos and have professional installers available to talk you through any tricky steps. 1 Measure the length and widths of each room, then multiply the two measurements. For example if a room is 12' long and 12' wide, multiply 12 x 12 = 144. The square footage for that room is 144 sf. If a room has an area that will not require hardwood, like a fireplace hearth, just measure the hearths length and width and deduct it from the room's original square footage.
Allow flooring to acclimate to its new environment. Wood Guys recommends flooring sit inside the house for at least one week before installation. Nailed-down engineered flooring must be installed over plywood. Ensure that sub flooring is clean and in good condition before installation. Trim the bottoms of door casings to allow the new flooring to slip underneath.

We just completed installing Hallmark Courtier luxury vinyl floors throughout our home. Wood Guys were very helpful from the very beginning when we were making decisions to followup after installition. We especially loved BJ who was the installer. He worked very efficiently with very little waste. I would advise anyone doing a floor remodel to pack up everything even if you don't think it will be in the way. The dust from removing the old tile floors was horrible. Contractors did everything to minimize mess by using drop cloths etc. But it was still a dusty mess. Cleanup is far easier if you just

My new wood floors are beautiful. The crew was professional and fast and knew what they were doing. The price was consistent with the other quotes that we received.
So why 3 stars? The two men that they hired to carry out our furniture and to bring it back in at the end of the job. Instead of taking drawers out of cabinets to make them easier to move, they left them in and scooted them across the floor leaving scratches. They damaged the back of one chair. They kept banging my furniture in to the doorway to the outside. Bedroom furniture had pieces knocked off of the legs. And more!

We are currently on week 4 of a "2 week project". My front door won't close, my other two exterior doors have gaps at the bottom of them that were supposed to be fixed on day 3 or 4 of said project. They had to sand and re-stain after the initial stain was not as advertised. We are still waiting for nail holes and gaps in our stairs to be fixed after pointing it out 2 weeks ago and demanding resolution. Wow! Incredible service and craftsmanship! The wood guys were amazing to work with. We had a pretty large project. They walked us through every step several times. Refinished entryway and install new oak hardwood down a long hallway. They were very good at keeping their apptmts. Over all a good job but didn't clean flooring well enough before applying finish coats. I wanted a semi gloss finish and had to tell them so several times. They usually applying a matte finish, so anything out of the norm should be emphasized.
