Harbor Pest Control has its beginning in 1948 with Sid Davis in Point Loma, California. Sid, who was a teacher at Dana Junior High, started his pest business in the summer months when he wasn't teaching. The needs in San Diego County for pest services grew, along with Sid's interest in growing his company.
Greg, a native San Diegan, graduated from Christian High School and then went up to UCLA for a degree in Business-Economics and started his first job as a CPA for a public accounting firm; Touche Ross & Co. Greg's family has always been heavily involved in the "bug business" and in 1984 he went to join his uncle, Jim Ogle, as the comptroller of Lloyd Pest Control in San Diego.

I had a rat problem in 2014 and Kevin came out and did an excellent job excluding the rats and setting traps. Problem solved quickly and at a fair price. Fast forward to 2021 and one of the crawl space doors had become loose and I had a rat again. The crawl space door had been damaged during some plumbing work, so no fault of Harbor Pest control and their excellent workmanship. Juan came out today and did a thorough job of checking all the possible openings that a rat may be coming in the house. Even though it was an inspection only visit, he was kind enough to spend a little extra time working

We recently had our house tented for termites by Harbor Pest Control. We met with a representative beforehand who was very informative about the tenting procedure and preparations on our part. The house was tented and removed in 2 days and we were able to return but stayed away an extra night.
We are very pleased with how professional and careful the employees were that installed and removed the tenting. No damage was done to the landscaping in front of the house (we have a lot plants and landscape decor) as well as the house itself.

I had a horrible black ant invasion in my town house this summer. They were everywhere, even the bed and bathroom. My poor cat couldn't even eat his meal in peace. Others in my complex had used Harbor Pest Control for ants so I called them. They were very accommodating, came last Friday, sprayed thoroughly outside and applied some gel stuff in strategic places inside.
Polite, fast and effective. Haven't seen an ant since! Yay! I thought their price was reasonable and it came with a 30-day warranty.

Each technician that comes by on the scheduled day is very professional, friendly and comprehensive. They take care of my home and go out of their way. Once Sean, our favorite technician, who didnt have the bait trap during the scheduled visit so returned a few days later to drop it off and took care of the problem. I recommend you stay away from this service. The process and the customer servise is all sounds good in the beginning, the actual work is as bad as you can get. Big waste of time, waste of family time, money and lots of efforts.
At the end, you will end up calling someone else to get REAL termite and pest treatment in less than 2 months.

Minus two stars because they continue to send me fake bills for $210. I never signed up for a control service. I can see someone being fooled by these "bills" & paying them.
The bill I am looking at it now says that this is my last chance to renew. I hope that's true and they stop sending me fake bills!

A few months ago, Harbor Pest Control donated a tenting for 2000 sqft home at a auction fundraiser. I was the lucky enough to win the bid. Our combined home/garage/granny flat was about 3500 sqft. Jeff Crane came to our home to go over everything that needed to be done. Very easy to understand. I packed up our home in about 7 hours total. Tenting went quickly. Jeff kept us up to date on timing for the next two days. Crew showed up on time. They were very respectful of our property, clean cut and professional. They made the process easy considering it is a stressful situation.

I was contacted in yelp by harbor pest and they told a half truth: They offered me the reduced premium of $220 for this year ONLY. To be increased next year and so on and so forth. BAD investment.
Also, five years ago they detected termite activity in a portion of the house. Like another yelper post, they only treated the area locally and did not re-tent. Go elsewhere.

I've used them for years because the convenience of a warranty. $220 per year to renew. We only get spot treatments of only evidence of termites. They never bothered to re-tent my home even if there was a bigger problem with the unseen termite infestation. It got worst over the years. In which why I stopped using them. I DO NOT recommend getting there warranty. They will care the first time around to treat your home but after that forget it. They never cared to treat the problem if it meant a re tent. Just a spot treatment. I do not recommend.

Late this summer I found myself in the most epic ant battle of my adult life! When I finally had tried everything I read on the internet and available from the store, I could no longer stand those little trails of insects streaming through my house. Shawn case out to my condo to help get rid of ants, he was so informative about the type of ants I had, where they come from and how we were going to treat them. I appreciate him explaining the treatment to me and exactly how it impacts the ants and gets rid of them. He just came yesterday and as of today I seen NO ants.

Mike was great! We called 3 companies to tent our 4 unit condo complex for termites. Harbor was most reasonable. The communication between everyone was just great! Everything ran so smoothly. Not one glitch with the exchanging of all the keys. They had the tent off the house by 9am on the 3rd day of fumigation. I am so happy with the way things turned out. Mike is so friendly and organized. Thanks Mike and to all the guys who did the physical work on the condos.

Really wanted to like his company because they came so highly reviewed on next door app. But I have had them come 3 times now. The first time I was not home but the second I was and the gentleman that sprayed my house did not brush under my eves like pest control companies are supposed to do and he only sprayed he floor under my table. So, I asked them to come back because they guarantee their spraying against pest if they come back. They came back 2 weeks later and this gentlemen sprayed my table and did a great job spraying it but brushed only half my house leaving a pest still living under
