We may be the team behind the design of your favorite place to unwind, rendezvous with friends or try the latest seasonal cocktail. Our commercial work is at the heart of our commitment to being connected to the communities where we build. As more people worldwide move to cities, architects are increasingly challenged to solve problems of living well in tight spaces.

We will continue advocating for, building, and designing affordable housing while maintaining attention to details and sustainability. Home ownership, at the townhouse scale, helps mitigate and prevent involuntary displacement by assisting first time home-owners with financial assistance, education and affordable financing.

The blue is a nod to the classic porch ceilings in the South, meant to ward off evil spirits and blend in with the sky. The restaurant goes even farther with the sky motif with a cloudy mural by local artist Ezra Butt, one of co-owner Zach Lefler's childhood friends. Our firm embraces a team philosophy, with a design process driven as much by client collaboration as architectural experience.
Services
Our firm embraces a team philosophy, with a design process driven as much by client collaboration as architectural experience. We are passionate about design, about people, and about the environment around us, and we bring that passion to seeking a unique solution for each project and client. We approach each opportunity with open minds and without a preconceived notion of what should be.
We believe that small is strong. Small business owners are at the heart of many of our projects, and our investment in their ideas is what distinguishes us from the competition. We love collaborating with our clients and consultants to cultivate community connectedness, promote walkable, livable neighborhoods, and contribute to social equity.
Our office is located in the New New Crusher Court Building on NE Sandy Boulevard. The building is organized around a central courtyard connecting 8 small businesses. This open, welcoming landscaped area acts as the main circulation system of the building while also creating a natural sense of community.
Ben Carr gave KGW a tour of the building and Gary Trottier of Proteck Construction shared some insight on what it takes to put a project like together. Here's a hint: it takes lots of teamwork! A new landmark along Portland's Morrison Bridge brings new life and a splash of color to the Inner Eastside.

Report
For the past 6 months, I've worked in a shared space with Brett Schulz, architect PC, and it's been an absolute pleasure. Brett, Ben, Shea and Jodi are professional, respectful, and personable – an all-around fun group to work with on a daily basis. I've enjoyed watching their projects come to life in my NE neighborhood. Their timeless, modern aesthetic brings the perfect balance of innovation and tradition to Portland, and I would happily recommend their firm.
